You know what is a real shame? The potential terrorists/crackpots don't need to be all that sophisticated 'cuz of our sorry state in these and other matters, we're leaving the door wide open with our butts exposed ... if they want to take an advantage of that all they need is a sling shot ... and there's not a damn thing we can do about itBeaker said:... <snip> ...
Shame - friggin shame
I hope everything will be O.K. and back to normal as soon as possible for you Florie...And all the people affected by this...Florie said:Power back on @1AM today but some traffic lights still not working. Left turns at the intersection are terrifying. You know how some Ontario drivers are. I had to line up for gas for over an hour where there is available. Some gas stations are still closed. Even big malls are closed, no ATM open where I live.
We just got the cable back. Rogers was down also we did not have any TV cable, internet and cell phones working at all. Grocery stores are crowded. This only happened one night. As I waited in line and looked around me I wonder if this could have gone for more than one night, say a few days. I don't want to imagine. I thought of Iraq and Afghanistan during and after the war.
Just my thoughts.

Pretty hard to get a bucket truck up the side of a mountain.Maggie said:I guess a bucket truck wouldn't reach that high and that would be the only way to do it. (until someone comes up with a better way)
One thing is sure...Lots of Happy triggers loves this way...Beaker said:I think I saw a show on that once - fixing these transformer lines.
Some guy flys around in a helicopter and swings down to make repairs. Never thought about tree branches but I guess it's the best way.
You're right - bizarre some red-neck with a 12guage shooting tree branches outta a helicopter hehe.
Welcome to the 21st century.
