History holder and stats program...

Can any of you suggest me some software that will hold my history and give me the usual stats... something cheap, nice and simple?? Preferably with text file histories....
I would code something up myself, but I really don't have the time! :(

Thanks in advance...

The best software for that was PC Lotto of Canada.
I think they have gone under, as I have not been able to find them.
They had a history mode and a great random number generator with wheels.

:(

Maggie and I went on a little 'deleting' rampage yesterday, we found out that you can delete your own posts, but only in the WINHunter section ... that function does NOT work in any other section on this BB, we tried all :notme:

Apologies for messing up your thread  :wavey:

ps. this is where we started

If you have MS Excel,

specify all the statistical test you require
and I'll provide a program that does all that.

Well, I usually have Excell on my work computers... but on my personal computers that's a different story! At the moment I only have some free office suite on my lappy!!! But I can try to get it....

I was thinking of something simple, like the typical stuff: sums, odd/even, last digits, lines and columns (as in the betting slips), decades (if they are different from the columns), lexical index, deltas, width.... that should be enough for a start....

Thanks for the help.....

Final test tonight,
I'll post LottoStatistics v1.01
tomorrow.

It is designed to Add as many Functions
as required.

Please provide information as of what
other Functions will be vital.
Any comments are welcome.

LottoStatisticsXL
is ready for download
at my yahoo groups site.

I also e-mail it to LT
to post in the forum.

Please send me your ideas after you have
used the program.

Hello Nick,
A really nice piece of software, like your other programs... you have to start thinking on coding them as independent programs, Excell is to expensive!

Anyway, I've been zaping through it... and here are some comments requests:

1) That history holder is a pain, had a difficult time setting it for my history...
2) Updating once you have the history in place is easy thanks to that automatic date calculation!
3) Can you explain the several fields in the Trivial Report?

DrID Numbers Sum Avg SD SB OE "05 49" 0123456789 123 EN Rg Co Re Deca Ms

The first are obvious but the others...
4) The visual report is a difficult to see, specially if you have 90 numbers like me!

Hello

Thank for your comments.

>>A really nice piece of software, like your other programs... you have to start thinking on coding them as independent programs, Excell is to expensive!

I agree but is bital software for testing
and easy visualization of data.

>>1) That history holder is a pain, had a difficult time setting it for my history...

An easy way is to open your history file
with Excel and keep the fields you require. Then paste these fildes to the
Database Sheet and click "Save Database" after you give it a neme.

The Fields are:

Sum: The sum of digits
Avg: The average of the digits
SD: Standard Deviation

SB: Small & Big
OE: Odd & Even
"05 49": Ending in "0-4" & "5-9"
0123456789: Ending in...
123:Appear Once, Twice, 3times Ending
EN: Ending >=2
Rg: Range of numbers
Co: Consecutives
Re:Repeats from last draw
Deca: Decades
Ms: Missing Decades

>>4) The visual report is a difficult to see, specially if you have 90 numbers like me!

I can provide a tool to zoom-in/out
so that the output screen can be totaly seen in one page.
Can you provide me with a sample of your history file?
If so I'll test some other forms of output for that procedure.

I like to know what other infirmation you would like to see on a report.
Some ideas that I have are:
1. Frequency Distribution
2. Best Performing Set
3. Group of Numbers analysis
4. Announcers

What else is vital to know as of Statistics?

Thanks for your input.

This may sound stupid, but what's the Ending??

I've solved the Visual Output problem by lowering the size of the font! :)

One thing about the trivial report, the decades are a bit different from what I expected... well you're correct, it's just that I tend to call decades to the lines in bet slip.... and here they are 1-10,11-20,...81-90!! This way all of them have the same ammount of numbers.

As for the other statistics I'll have to think about it.... frequency distribution is nice, perhaps some medians would be nice also!

One other nice feature would be a text file save in WinHunter format... nothing special just a txt file with spaces as delimiters.

Hi thornc,

- Ending... to make up the end of the number or Last Digit

- Decades are 1-9, 10-19.....

- I will add the Frequency Distribution sub. I already added the Lexicographic ID you indicated.

- Median will be added too.

- I have not try WinHunter, but I believe that the .txt file is loaded as is?

Hello Nick,

Just wondering how far back your repeats go.

Have not tried your s/w out yet but looking for something that looks at repeats from 1 to 10 draws back.

Regards,

Irvin.

Just one other thing how about width of line?

:wavey:

Hi Irvin,

I will add repeats on intervals of 2,
from 2 to 10, but I will not show the actual
numbers but only the quantity.

Hi again,

I encouner the problem of a definition
Repeats can be:
1. unique repeats
2. the same number repeat.

I'll build a version to try out
with "same number repeat permitted"
and if that is not what we shall know
I'll change it to unique repeats.

Nick
