'He still loves me ...'
Mother of 4 says she's winner's wife

Nynna Ionson is living in poverty, making do without a television or a telephone and hitchhiking in the dead of winter, and did not know until Thursday that the man she says is her husband had a lottery ticket worth $30 million. The Woodstock mother of four said yesterday she was kept in the dark by lottery winner Raymond Sobeski until he finally turned in his ticket.

"I know he loves me and I love him. It's what's in your heart -- nothing else matters," she said. "Thirty million dollars and me. Why wouldn't you want to have both?"

'PEOPLE GET GREEDY'

Ionson isn't entitled to any of the $30-million lottery jackpot he won, his brother Larry Sobeski said.

"I'm sure he was going to look after (her). People get greedy," Larry said.

Raymond did marry Ionson in 1998, and realized it was a mistake the next day, Larry said.

Ionson maintains she and Sobeski are still married, but the lottery winner's brother said that's not the case.

"He married her but ... he never moved in with her," Larry said.

"He was legally separated (from Ionson) when he bought that ticket."

Yesterday, Ionson's teenage son Cory and a longtime neighbour confirmed she had been in contact with a lawyer.

"I have known the guy for nine years and I don't like him much. Why be so greedy and do this (cash in his winning ticket) on April Fool's Day. It's unbelievable," Cory said.

Larry says media reports that his brother missed child- support payments to his former wife Sherry Sobeski and two kids are "false and disgusting."

UP TO DATE

"He was up to date on his child support. When somebody gets a lot of money, everyone wants to get some," Larry said.

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. investigates and deducts any spousal or child payments that the lottery winner may owe, spokesman Kathy Pittman said. "The jackpot was $30 million and (Sobeski) received $30 million," Pittman said.

Larry says Raymond is out of the country and the rest of his family is in hiding because the media attention has been overwhelming.

If he or his family want to avoid the flood of unwanted attention headed their way, he should give his wife what she is entitled to. Otherwise he should move to Brazil. Today.

And maybe a boyfriend too.... A fiancé waiting to get married... So the guy will have to prove that he is not gay who knows???
The lotto Corporation can't hold down the payments...They have to pay only to the name on the ticket...
What follows is another story...I see some lawyers wanting in lines to cash big on this....The guy will end up having only a 1/3 of that prize...A court order can be issued so the guy couldn't leave the country...If he fled the country after that he can lose it all...Because in accordance to international laws agreements between the countries any bank account(even swiss bank account ) can be frozen when a fugitive...
The only way out of this mess is an outside court accord...but still he will lose about half of his money...The guy should have give some money to her right away...And mostly he should have helped the poor with this win....instead he will give more to the rich by acting the way he did...

To change the flavour of this "he should have..." thread, I will only
say this.

Folks, that's luck for you! :teach:

You can be as poor as a church mouse, you can be as low I.Q. as
a doorknob and yet you can win.

Isn't that unfair to the most fine intellect found on this BBS
who spend countless brain watts per hour to discover the spark
that creates the foolproof formula that generates the best guess
each draw?

A small scale situation like this happened to me this weekend
(well.. so-to-speak).

Let's face it. I simply cannot run Winhunter because when that VB6
app doesn't crash, I cannot make head or tail of this program
anyway, nor can I find where are the numbers this program suggest
me to play. Talk about being a real blonde (eh!) :agree:

Yet, with $10 worth of quickpick I won $145 on Super7 (5 of 7)
and left a $20 tip to the teller who sold me the ticket.

Morality, stop thinking like Einstein and start acting like idiots.
Who knows? Maybe morons are luck magnets :agree:

very strange -- if he never did move in with her is he the father to those kids, of course he could be????

Here is an article in the future on this guy;

" Man found dead with a note from the bank declaring him bankrupt"

Easy come easy go.

That's funny !

Another possible headline: Autopsy revealed a stack of $100 bills in the man's pharynx ... the remainder of the $30M is missing ...

All Speculation

That's why it took him almost a year before he cashed in because of ALL the planning for pitfalls like these.

No one will get any of his money unless he bestow it to them

No one in his right mind would wait almost 1 year before cashing in if you know you have 30 million in the bag..... being stupid and a moron is an understatement..... BUT

In actual fact, he has great skills and a very good planner. It took him one year. Now, no one knows where he is and no one can get him, even the lawyers..... LOL

Kudos to this guy. He is good !

"Zinsmeist.." as in Heike Zinsmeister or Karl Zinsmeister or the shop.Zinsmeister.com which is now www. Reforger.com auction site.:dizzy:
