He checked 200 times over the course of the year. He must be an awfully disciplined type of person. I can't imagine working for a whole extra year when I didn't have to. That would stress me out. :) I don't have that kind of discipline.

You are right; he lost a year without blackmailing his boss, something anyone must do before going to Caribe, Amazon... :D

We can stop speculating, the Cat's out of the bag ....

From a reliable source:

the real reason for not coming forward sooner is the guy was trying to figure out a way to 'hide' the whole enchilada from his ex wife!!

Apparently the ticket was bought while the two were still married

Time to re-evaluate our opinions of the winner ? ;)

Combo told me that ...

He may as well just give it up. A long battle over it would just be too damn exhausting. :dizzy:
He'll settle for $1,000,000 - better than 15

He probably sealed that divorce very tightly - too bad .... for her.:agree:

ONE THING HE MUST HAVE BEEN DOING FOR THE LAST YEAR WAS LAUGH AT ALL THE PEOPLE THOUGHT IT WAS THEIR TKT THAT HAD WON, LIKE THE STORY ABOUT THE LOTTO TKT THAT WAS LOST FROM THE COPY MACHINE, OR SOMEONE DID THE LAUNDRY ,
BUT I WOULD THINK THAT IF HE DID HIDE IT FROM HIS WIFE AT THE TIME, WOULDNT SHE STILL HAVE CLAIM TO HALF IF IT WAS PURCHASED DURING THEIR MARRIAGE????

funny you should mention this. On the news he said he often went to the store where he bought the ticket to pick up a few things. They knew by that time the winning ticket was sold there and it was a running joke in the place that the 'winner could be standing right here'

One day he was there, and someone looked at him and said - '...even he could be the winner' - he just smiled :dizzy:

My 2cents.
According to the lawyer, 2 important things- dates, dates, dates
-the date the ticket was purchased
- the date of facts like when they separated..

His 30 mil will be a part of the total split of the assets. It may be easy for some to say I will claim right away as soon as win confirmation is verified but for other people it may not be as easy as that so he might have a reason/or reasons to do what he did.
