I've been concentrating on the long shots myself to try for a better payout. I've been doubling up on sixes lately. Probably not the best choice, but I've committed to sets with sixes. We had a change-up with a 6829 draw tonight. I wish Calif. games paid off on 3 of 4 numbers...oh well.

cool, yeah doubles payout more whenya can hit 'em.
no kidding, CA should payout consolation prizes for beating various odds, such as 3 of 4 digits.
even if it was chump change, say only $5, it'd be something, add more dimension to the game...people would have incentive to play on a more regular basis.
if pick3 & pick4 were casino games in Vegas, they'd have way better payouts AND likely offer some kinda prize for beating various levels of odds.
I know it is a lottery, goal is money towards education...but they'd do more business they otherwise wouldn't get if they loosened up the games a bit.

I was all over it with 3 out of 4....again. I played my longshots and I went with some sets that were more statistically probable. You never know when the longshots will hit, and that's the time to go, "All in...". I didn't. Oh well... Sixes and nines may be on a run after a while. I'll stick with it.
