6/49 Discussion For February 28, 2004

Out of curiosity, why do people reveal their picks? For parimutuel lotteries like Lotto 6/49, you are basically betting against each other. The numbers chosen by other players determine the return because prizes are shared among all winners for the top four prizes.

Looking at this week's 6/49 draws as a numerical example, if your posted favourite picks matched 5 + the bonus numbers, but four other members copied the same picks, you would have won only $90,438.50 each. For the previous draw, had you kept your winning 5+B picks to yourself, you would have won more than three times as much at $305,281.20.
One of the best lottery strategies is to avoid commonly selected numbers such as those in forums, software and birthdays.

I'd say using them as a filter would be better:agree: as in not to play them.

Just moved these from the PIKS Thread... now discuss away!

True draw results

Based on a comparison between BCLC data, Loto Quebec website information and my own database, it appears most likely the data from BCLC website is exact.

This was done either by comparing number by number when possible, by comparing distribution for each number (1 to 49) with or without the bonus number over all draws and even the sum of numbers per position.

GillesD:

This is a good indicator:agree2:... ...the true test is the actual data from Lotto Québec. I leave nothing to chance when possible:agree:.

George:)

The Dancing Set was very low in hits lately over all so logic says we should eventually see much more. When that will be is not really known. How is that for diplomatic:lol:?

George:)

Mon,
43 and 47 are two numbers I usually always play together, and when I do, I add the 20 in there as well. I think the 47 has a good chance of being there on Wed. I may keep the numbers I've been playing for the past 2 draws for this week also. :)
Wise advice from a 5-number hitter :agree:

The when is simple - Next!!
at least 5 in that set :agree:

Go back to the Nov 1st discussions and see where the Beak called it ;)

That was a 10-grand nite for the :king: - well deserved since he played it all through the bonus draws

Now, before we all go out and play the dancing set, let's remember what our "math expert" - can't update his stats - powerball says - we shouldn't play the same numbers because we just dilute the winnings

Profound :dizzy:

Message to powerball - Don't play the Dancing Set - leave the winnings to the real players

All of that is just too funny:lol:! I love
it!

Speaking of what to play... ...primes is on my todo list:agree:. There are some in the Dancing Set... ...like I've pointed out, never has it hit for 6 hits in 4/69 here yet... ...those 12 numbers have made 5 up to now... ...Dennis has confirmed a 6 hitter in other 6/49 games have had all 6 in those 12... ...when it happens, Dennis will be  all the way to the bank if things workout just right:agree::agree2:.

George:)

George, you really must go back in the history of these threads - take a look:

Dennis Bassboss - Oct 25th George not counting tonite's draw...I can tell you already that 6 set of 7 numbers (dancing set +prime numbers) have hit one time each but hold on...118 sets of 6 numbers have hit once also...As for the 5 number sets 11 of them have hit twice and 831 sets of 5 have hit once(of course this is bonus included so we have many 4 hitters among these set)

Originally posted by Dennis Bassboss - Oct 25th said:
Having these prime numbers in mind....watch out for these quads...they have all hit twice in the last 20 draws...
03-05-11-34
03-11-38-47
25-26-37-49
... lots of good ones there - can't say much more :dizzy:

Thanks for the tip:agree2:... ...I do recall this point made by Dennis without looking back... ...once taking a look on the other hand, gives you a chance to see what was discussed in the past... ...some of those things which were expected to occur, could strike. Oops, I might have said too much already;).

George:)

The reason I'm looking in that area is there was alot of talk about the 'great pair' hitting, which I think will happen very shortly and alot of numbers from the dancing set are on deck :agree:

Now, Don't Play the Dancing Set  you will dilute my winnings

Well, I don't mind sharing, and if I had to share a 5 million dollar pot with someone and ended up with only 2.5, I really don't think I'd be too upset about it.

And I would gladly share a 10.00 prize with you too, Beak. ;)

(more, if those CSN numbers of mine come up someday, still playing them)
