Hi Brad,

Thanks Very Much for the Table, it is Exactly what I was After :agree: .
Is there a Stand Alone Version to Check Wheels Guaranteed Matches, in Excel or Something?.
system13 Kindly Run Two Tables for me on the Following Wheels, Unfortunately BOTH Tables had NO Information for Match 4 if 4.
When you have some Spare Time, would it be Possible for you to Run them so I can Compare the Results Please :-

Wheel 01
14 Numbers Selected ( Each Number Appearing Twice ), Producing 7 Four Number Combinations.
01-03-04-08
01-05-06-10
02-07-09-13
02-09-12-14
03-05-08-11
04-06-10-11
07-12-13-14

Wheel 02
14 Numbers Selected ( Each Number Appearing Four Times ), Producing 14 Four Number Combinations.
01 02 06 14
01 02 08 11
01 06 08 10
01 10 11 14
02 06 10 11
02 08 10 14

Sorry PAB, I don't have the Excel capability (read know how) to do that. Unfortunately CoverMaster will not give 4if4 data, only up to 3if4.

As you prob noticed it did not provide 7if7 on your 727 wheel either. But maybe someone else will step up with the info you need,

Cheers

Thanks for the Reply Brad,

Would it Still be Possible for you to Produce the Tables for the 2 Wheel Please. I ask this Because I Noticed that the 2 Tables I have Seem to be Slightly Skewiff.
Thanks Again

Actually I just remembered CoverMaster's Wheel Analyzer should give the data needed :D

Wheel 1 - if 4 hits:

4 3 % Total Acc %
------------------------------------------------------------------
- - 734 73.32667 73.32667
- 1 240 23.97602 97.30270
- 2 20 1.99800 99.30070
1 0 7 0.69930 100.00000

Wheel 2 - if 4 hits:

4 3 % Total Acc %
------------------------------------------------------------------
- - 539 53.84615 53.84615
- 1 392 39.16084 93.00699
- 3 56 5.59441 98.60140
1 0 14 1.39860 100.00000

Let me know if this is it,

Cheers

correction

Wheel x - if 4 hits: " 4 3 % Total Acc %" should read " 4 3 Total % Acc %"

The chart on my screen shows it correctly but for some reason when Ctrl+V/C (copy/paste) is used it comes out wrong ... must be a bug in the prog :notme:

Thanks Brad,

This is the Wheels Output I have for Wheel 02 ( 14 Combinations ), Kindly Supplied by system13 :-

Quick CM report

code:--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T if M Tested Covered % Not Covered %
----------------------------------------------------
2 If 2 : 91 42 46,15385 49 53,84615
2 If 3 : 364 364 100,00000 0 0,00000
2 If 4 : 1.001 1.001 100,00000 0 0,00000
2 If 5 : 2.002 2.002 100,00000 0 0,00000
2 If 6 : 3.003 3.003 100,00000 0 0,00000
2 If 7 : 3.432 3.432 100,00000 0 0,00000
3 If 3 : 364 56 15,38462 308 84,61538
3 If 4 : 1.001 462 46,15385 539 53,84615
3 If 5 : 2.002 1.708 85,31469 294 14,68531
3 If 6 : 3.003 2.954 98,36830 49 1,63170
3 If 7 : 3.432 3.432 100,00000 0 0,00000
4 If 4 : *again, this line doesn't show anything
4 If 5 : 2.002 140 6,99301 1.862 93,00699
4 If 6 : 3.003 602 20,04662 2.401 79,95338
4 If 7 : 3.432 1.298 37,82051 2.134 62,17949

It Differs from the Table you Assembled because it Contains Full Stops as Opposed to Commas  . I Assume that ALL the Full Stops Should be Thousand Seperators?.
I just thought that if you could Possibly Produce the Two Wheels in the Same Format as Above, I could Compare them.

Thanks for All Your Help.

O.K. I see the problem now ... another bug maybe?

In the quick report these lines should read (picked at random but you can adjust the rest):

--> 2 If 2 : 91 42 46,15385 49 53,84615
Match 2/ Hits 2/ Tested 91/ Covered 42/ % 46.15385/ Uncovered 49/ % 53.84615

--> 2 If 7 : 3.432 3.432 100,00000 0 0,00000
Match 2/ Hits 7/ Tested 3,432/ Covered 3,432/ % 100.00000/ Uncovered 0/ % 0.00000

I got exactly the same results as system13 for Wheel 02 btw. Don't know why CoverMaster screws up the dots vs commas when copied.
It can also get confusing with so many decimal points (ie: 100.00000) ... don't really need those in real life.

I can do the tests on the other wheels, but later, gotta run now.

Cheers

P.S. Have you tried getting CoverMaster? A search on this BB should get you the link for download.

CoverMaster Download

PAB,

here's the link to CM program download, this one will get you the doc-help file. It's free, no pass key needed.

Not sure I understand correctly (from the prev thread) why you'd want to download it directly to a CD. But CM does not require an installation to your hard drive, it will run from a simple folder from most recording media.

Don't think it can be put directly onto a CD cuz it has to be placed somewhere first (like desktop) bfr it can be burned in, but I've downloaded it straight to and ran it from a compact flash card bfr. It's a bit too large for a floppy disk, ~0.9MB zipped, ~2.1MB extracted.

You should have no problems getting it from the link above (lotto-logix), I've done it a few times bfr and never had anything go wrong (famous last words :D ).

As far as I know it's not available on CD unless you know someone who has it already and can burn a copy for you.

Hope this helps,

Cheers

This time I manually rounded of to 1 decimal point where needed, it's much easier to read. Not much I can do about the spacing (format) cuz I don't know how to use code on this BB ...
_____________

You prob know this already but these are the parameters:

T if M (say 2 if 7) can be expressed as:

2< Match: Is the number of winning numbers you want to appear together on at least one combination to guarantee or provide a percentage of cover for.

7< Hits: Is the number of winning numbers you need to appear among the numbers being wheeled to have the above match take place.

Tested: how many combinations the prog tested

Covered: how many of the Tested your wheel Covered

Covered % and Not Covered %: that's simply the wheel's coverage expressed as a percentage, notice Covered + Not Covered always add up to 100%.
___________________

That's basically it, except maybe I should mention the Wheel Analyzer feature (see my " if 4 hits " post above) is more detailed. The prob with posting those results is that each "if x hits" is generated separately so it's not as quick and easy to post it on the BB for me.

Oh, just remembered ... one way to have the Reports display with proper formatting and thus being able to read them without getting cross-eyed :dizzy: , is to use the 'quote' button on the post and then copy/pasting the Report into a simple text file (WordPad will do). Things should line up nicely then ... try it and Report back to me ;)

... maybe one day I'll learn how to use the friggin code to format nicely on this BB

Cheers

Hi Brad,

Thanks for ALL the Time you have Spent on this. The Tables are Exactly what I was After :agree: .
The Trick Using the 'Quote' Button on the Post, and then Copying & Pasting the Report into Notepad Worked a Treat :agree: .
Thanks for the Link to CoverMaster ( is that the Latest Version ), I will Probably Download it ( if it Runs on XP ) at the Weekend and have a Look.
Just One thing though, I do Not Understand what the Following Represents from CoverMaster's Wheel Analyzer  :-

Wheel 1 - if 4 hits:

4 3 % Total Acc %
------------------------------------------------------------------
- - 734 73.32667 73.32667
- 1 240 23.97602 97.30270
- 2 20 1.99800 99.30070
1 0 7 0.69930 100.00000

Wheel 2 - if 4 hits:

4 3 % Total Acc %
------------------------------------------------------------------
- - 539 53.84615 53.84615
- 1 392 39.16084 93.00699
- 3 56 5.59441 98.60140
1 0 14 1.39860 100.00000

Once Again, Thanks for ALL Your Help :agree: .
All the Best

wheel Mileage with 4 hits

Wheel 1 - if 4 hits:

4 3 Total % Acc%
--------------------------
- - 734 73.3 073.3
- 1 240 24.0 097.3
- 2 020 02.0 099.3
1 0 007 00.7 100.0

I rounded off to 1 dec. point where needed and put in the leading zeros to get things in line ...
______________________

This table shows the chance of a Match for a given Hit, in this case a 4 Hit, using your 14 number Wheel.

Looking at the first line there are 734 ways of getting no (0) 3 or 4 Match, or expressed as a percentage - 73.3% of the time you Hit a 4 the wheel will get no Match.

Similarly (second line), there are 240 ways of getting one (1) 3 Match along with none (0) 4 Match - this can happen 24.0% of the time.
The last column, Acc%, is simply the cumulative percentage - in this case: 73.3+24=97.3%

Bottom line - this wheel can ride for a 100 draws and even if it Hits 4 each time (good picking on your part ;) ) there maybe only one draw (0.7%) where it will Match 4.

Your true mileage may vary

Btw, summing up the Total column yields 1001, which is the total of possible 4-number combos in any 14 number set.
Another way to arrive at that sum is: (14*13*12*11)/(4*3*2*1)=1001

So when you get a chance to try CoverMaster I think you'll find it fairly easy to use, experiment with it and see why many ppl on this board like it. I feel it's one of the best ... and it's free to boot.
I think the version I supplied a link for will work well. There's another link that leads to a download which requires a valid eBay membership to work, this way the CM author (John Rowson I believe) gets a few pennies for his effort from eBay guys. If you are with eBay you may consider going that route instead, and get a newer version of the program ... that link is available on this BB too, gotta search for it. Both will work with XP.

Cheers

here's the other Link
