What's your KENO strategy?

(Canadian KENO: 70 numbers - 20 drawn)

I don't know if you've ever heard of this strategy:

I keep a spreadsheet of the numbers drawn each day.
I check how many numbers have repeated from the previous draw.
If the amount of numbers that have repeated is low (less than 5) for a couple of days, I will take the last drawn numbers - all 20 of them and wheel them into tickets for category 6, 7, or 8 using La Jolla's wheels. I have won this way on category 6 a couple of times, but only secondary prizes on category 7 and 8. When I play I'll play a $2 bet so even the secondary prize makes me happy. Sometimes I will hand select a couple of lines - elminating numbers that have already played 2 draws or more because they make up such a small number of the repeats (yes I added those up too..you'd think I had nothing to do..extremely the opposite!!).

These are the number of repeats each night the first number is June 4th 07 and the last number is Nov 8th '06. Average is 5.6 repeats a draw - which makes perfect sense 28% of 20... and 20 numbers of 70 is 28%.... BUT check out the numbers below - so often there are 7 repeats, 8 repeats, 9 is not unusual and there have been even 10 and 11 repeats. I can't play the wheel every day - that's why I wheel when there have been a couple of days of a low number of repeats - but I'll usually play a buck or 2 on some selected numbers to repeat each day - usually category 8 or 7.

Tonite for example I wheeled for category 7 and $2 bet because there were only 4 repeats the last 2 draws...wish me luck..

June 4th 2007 4,4,5,6,6,7,6,4,7,6,5,8,2,6,3,5,6,7,8,4,6,

You keep looking for the answers.
Do you have any yourself? What program do you use or do you use quick picks like myself.

I don't use a program. I buy insta picks, and play numbers I see on the forum or numbers I see elsewhere and try my luck.:dog:

Hi,

I won $10 on one $2 ticket in category 7 very annoying :crap: because I was waiting for it.

It works out best with category 6 - I should stick to it... but getting greedy...the bane of the gambler.

Good luck!

A couple of observations and questions - thanks for the wheeling link.
Which wheel did you use that would extract 6 correct out of 20.
It seems the wheel would have to contain several dozens lines even if you had
12/20 !

The waiting period for the repeats to come out strong seems quite long in some cases.

A result of 8 or 9 out of 20 can be achieved by random sampling.
Try that with different sets of number groups
and I think you will find there is not that much difference between
your method and randomly selected sets of data.

Having said that I think repeats are extremely important
in Keno, however, you should use them in conjunction with other parameters of the game.

Keno repeats

Thanks!

I played with a friend and ... it might have been C(20,6,3) <=71 but it could've been a smaller one C(20,6,2) <=16 I input the numbers and then rearranged them and played the wheel again.... maybe even a third time. Sorry, I'm not as mathematically adept as you.

Did you notice that there were only 2 repeats yesterday? I didn't wheel... I played one line of repeats category 9 (best guess). Thanks for your insight... Maybe I'll just get one quick pick and replay it for 10 draws and see what happens.

Did you ever keep track of the most frequent numbers that play? (ie is it worth it?)

Last week I went back some draws and checked how many out the 20 were from the top 35 frequently drawn keno numbers....

Notable: May 1st (12 of them)
May 2nd (13 of them)
May 3rd (11 of them)
May 4th (14 of them)

More recently:
June 5th (12 of them)
June 6th (12 of them)
June 7th (12 of them)

They seem to go in runs.... like if you see a run starting it may be worth it... wheeling 35 numbers into some category 10 tickets if 12 were chosen how big would your wheel have to be to have a 50% chance at the top prize?

What's your opinion?

so annoyed

I'm so annoyed... I stopped playing repeats a couple of nights ago and of course the 12th of June had 10 repeats... 50% of the numbers I would've wheeled would've been good... Keno, Keno, Keno...so promising...so aggravating!

OK...Not So Annoyed Right Now!

Ok... took collective advice (esp. roger.www) and stopped worrying about repeats etc. Took the cold numbers and picked out some high-frequency ones that haven't played and picked a few cold low-frequency ones... played $16...
one ticket Category 10 for $2.00
one ticket Category 7 for $2.00
one ticket Category 8 for $2.00
one ticket Category 6 for $10.00
Just have to say I seem to be luckier with Category 6 (the odds are much better, right)

..... I got 5/6 which gives me $250...:dance1: ....I could scream because I was one number (70) away from $10,000.:dang:

I think I'm going to do that for a few days $5 or $10 on category 6 and see what else happens.

Thanks to forum members (and roger.www) for steering me away from playing repeats...it paid off.

Your suggestion to focus on repeats is actually a good idea !
but use them with other parameters:
eg- do some analysis on odd/even composition
tabulate, same as you did with repeats
-same with HIGH/LOW numbers

Try playing 4 numbers ! This week alone
with $1 wager I have won:

Monday $100
Wed $400
thurs :$300

Total: $800.00

Cut down on those $2 wagers !!!! - spread your risk over more lines with $1 !

talking about keno

Hello there,Im new to this site and I want to contribute and learn as much as possible.
my strategy for now is just reading through all these forums and finding the best strategy, as Im a newbie.
my first question is,if you had 100 hundred dollars to gamble on keno,is it better to pick 100 hundred combinations for one draw or are your chances of winning better if you play 1 combination for 100 straight draws(at a casino),
or are your chances the same?
thanks for your input:santa:

Hi to all,

I don't play Canadian Ontario Keno because I don't live there and you can't play online. There are interesting ideas in this thread. I searched the repeaters from the last Ontario 30 drawings :

18/05/2007 7 repeaters 19 33 36 57 59 63 66
19/05/2007 6 repeaters 35 46 50 58 59 67
20/05/2007 5 repeaters 18 53 54 59 61
21/05/2007 3 repeaters 20 39 63
22/05/2007 6 repeaters 7 29 48 57 63 67
23/05/2007 2 repeaters 53 67
24/05/2007 8 repeaters 6 12 17 23 35 44 46 53
25/05/2007 5 repeaters 18 33 35 41 59
26/05/2007 6 repeaters 7 10 18 33 64 69
27/05/2007 7 repeaters 10 12 17 30 33 50 69
28/05/2007 4 repeaters 44 46 52 69
29/05/2007 6 repeaters 1 29 53 54 57 70
30/05/2007 8 repeaters 3 4 13 14 16 22 54 57
31/05/2007 6 repeaters 4 13 16 24 30 57
01/06/2007 6 repeaters 4 10 26 30 36 64
02/06/2007 6 repeaters 6 8 19 36 49 64
03/06/2007 4 repeaters 8 13 41 53
04/06/2007 4 repeaters 2 7 29 38
05/06/2007 8 repeaters 5 7 20 35 37 42 49 60
06/06/2007 7 repeaters 7 33 48 49 54 57 62
07/06/2007 4 repeaters 6 7 40 54
08/06/2007 5 repeaters 6 12 17 44 59
09/06/2007 2 repeaters 20 47
10/06/2007 7 repeaters 9 38 45 47 48 52 66
11/06/2007 4 repeaters 3 41 45 56
12/06/2007 10 repeaters 2 4 8 28 32 43 56 59 65 67

14/06/2007 2 repeaters 11 23
15/06/2007 8 repeaters 15 19 42 48 53 60 63 64
16/06/2007 5 repeaters 21 30 36 55 67

This is a thing I was aware of, for there are the same patterns in the Keno I play, French Keno. So, this is a useful knowledge.

I am searching the best ticket to play for me in my keno. Here, the prizes are half the prizes in Canada : 1$ give 50$ but give 100$ in Canada for a 4/4 ticket. I wonder what would be the best for me. The house percentage I calculated say that the 6/20 ticket is the best. I won 1 time a 6/6 with a 15 numbers wheel with 10 tickets.

Have a good day!

Best Prize Anyone Has Ever Won?

What is the best prize anyone has ever won?
and when you won that big prize, did you use quick pick or what happened?
I have won 1000 dollars once via a quick pick category 6 and i have won 200 for getting 7 out of 8 by just randomly selecting numbers on the keno card myself.
I'm curious to see just how pathetically hard it is to hit something large.

Detecting series

Hi,

I have a software called Serikeno to detect series of numbers to come.
I asked series for the next drawing 22 june 07. It gives me the following numbers (I asked for 15 numbers with eight numbers to hit) :
2-7-9-10-18-21-24-25-29-41-45-50-59-69-70
The backtest on last draws give :
16 june : 7 numbers
17 june : 5 numbers
18 june : 4 numbers
19 june : 9 numbers
20 june : 8 numbers
21 june : 8 numbers.
The last three drawings are the base drawings on which the series are searched. So, we wait now for the next drawing of 22 june to see the result.
In french keno 70/20/10, the results are good just the next draw and also 10 draws later. In the Ontario Keno, it seems that the better results come just the next 1 or 2 drawings. Must be backtest more. Let see what happened.

The other method I use is the last digit method. Just look at the last drawing and see the last digits missing or with very low hits. I have rather good results with this method. Must perhaps add the repeaters but how can you forecast repeater numbers? You can forecast when you can get many repeaters (when the former drawing have 3 ou 4 repeaters). To say which numbers will repeat is another story.

Forecasting the decade or decades that will come is another good method.

This is the drawing for 22 june 2007 :

Fri., June 22 : 01 06 10 12 15 22 23 24 26 35 38 39 40 41 48 54 57 60 65 69

Well. 10-24-41-69 = 4 numbers/15. Waiting for to-morrow with the same 15 numbers.

I play Atlantic Keno. Don't have luck with it at all. I can't afford to play more than a few combinations at a time.

Hi,

Veronica,

You must use wheels. I use a wheel with 15 numbers which give 10 tickets to play.

Results Ontario

Sat., June 23 : 05 12 17 18 20 28 30 31 32 37 38 49 52 53 59 60 62 63 64 70

Series to play : 2-6-7-11-24-35-39-41-42-48-50-51-*53-*60-65

Series for 22 june to replay 23 june 07 :

2-7-9-10-*18-21-24-25-29-41-45-50-59*-69-70*

So, i have 2/15 and 3/15. No good.
