Legitimate question....

Before you bash this question consider this:

Sure you can win millions of dollars on the lottery, but the chance of picking those specific numbers is unbelievably low.

The chances of winning on the average scratch game is 1 in 3.82 The prizes are smaller, but it affords more value per dollar and thus more opportunities to hit a big prize. Some prizes are of equal grandness to the regular lottery.

Any substantiated responses are welcome.

Well, some time ago unintentionally I started a small talk about lottery games with a guy who was playing lottery occasionally. Somehow I mentioned computer generated lotteries and he didn’t believe they existed at all. He simply didn’t believe that is possible at all, believing those cheerful ball machines always draw the lottery numbers in all lottery games. Since the guy was quite smart, at first I was thinking he was just joking or such, but after while I concluded he was quite serious. :eek2:Being a bit surprised, I asked our colleague who was also an occasional lottery player and a quite smart dude to explain to him about computer generated lottery games existence, and …he didn’t know about it at all also, believing I was starting some joke or such. :eek2: :eek2: A few days before I was surprised how some people might know a little about some keno games odds , and for me that was more than enough incredible surprises that day so stopped talk about that matter. I was actually really surprised how people even playing lottery might know a little about lottery games.

Same is with those scratch tickets. In order to have some decent odds , it’s necessary to have clear and accurate evidence about existing chances. Personally, I would never play a scratch game where is only one big prize and a game where return is less than, let’s say 70-80%… And, for sure I would never play a scratch game where all bigger prizes are already gone….
