Verifying tickets at the retailer

I am Super ticked at my corner 7-11.
I just went to go purchase my S7 tickets, spent $30, then I gave her some free plays, and was told they are not verifying those today.
I was steamed, thats BS someone from 7-11 will hear from me tomorrow.
Just spent my last nickel there.
Between smokes and tickets, I probably leave $200 a week there.
I could maybe see if they had a line up outside the store, but there was only one other person at the counter.:burnt: :burnt: :burnt: :mad3: :mad3: :mad3:

You might be dealing with a dishonest store owner here double check each items bought there...He might be charging extra taxes too.. :burnt: :burnt: :mad3: :mad3:

We have no sales tax in Alberta, I don't think the store is dishonest, just very poor service.
Then double check the price on every items...He might be putting more than what you'd expect in his pocket...

There was one time I was turned down at the lotto counter in the mall too for redeeming free plays. The explanation I was given was that the system did not pay out in the hour before closing of the current draw, i.e. 8pm-9pm EST. The clerk told me that the system could only issue new tickets in that hour. I really don't know how much truth is in that since I never tried to redeem winners in the last hour ever again.

Shiraz: if that is the case, I could except that, however in that case an explanation from the clerk to the customer is in order.
this clerk just throw my free plays back at me and said we're not checking these now.
Yet the have the capability of taking your money now...go figure:mad: :(

Hi Peter,

I can relate to that too.

That turns me off to be served by slackers. We've got a lot of them here. The others that don't fit that category are usually the poorly trained. Is it the same in EDM?

Here in NFLD the lottery terminals can't check tickets on draw night for about an hour. So the cut off time to buy tickets is 10pm???? then we can get anything verified until the results are out...

By going else where Peter you may end up with the winning ticket:notme:.. Then they would not be happy! .....They have no right to turn you down from checking your tickets. They don't even pay for the Terminals or Paper here , all they have to pay for in the cost of electricity....

I think the lottery corporations charge retailers a license fee (thousands of dollars?) then pay them 5% of sales plus up to 1% of prizes awarded. If a retailer in Ontario sells the $30 million Lotto Super 7 ticket, cheapskate OLGC gives them the maximum bonus of around $25,000, while a retailer in Quebec or Atlantic Canada would get 1% or $300,000!

Looks like every province/territory have different procedures for Super 7 and 6/49. Even retailer rewards are different. The only thing the same is incompetent low paid clerks operating lottery terminals providing poor service:lol:.
