In summary, 29.2% of draws have all their skips equal to or less than 10, 52.5% have all skips below 16, 75% have all skips below 20, 90.9% have all skips below 27 and 99.0% of draws have all skips below 43.

And then there's the last 1%.....

If you wanted to eliminate all numbers with skips of 12 or more you would be sucessful in about 1/3 games. Of course, the 1 in 3 that would be successful would be the case where there were the least numbers that could be eliminated. :dang:

Thanks for posting the file, PAB.

Hi folks, I have been out for a while, but now let me share what i did for skips, i did skip patterns based on this skip median number in the following order A,B,C,D (A=Skip 0 for previous draw,B= from 1 to 4 (Skip Median),C=from 5 to 8 and D= greater than 8), so for each combination we can found something like 1,3,2,1= 1 means one number from previous draw, 3 from 1 to 4 draws, 2 from 5 to 8 and 1 for a skip greater than 8, then a got a frequency hits chart for those patterns and from 10 to 15 skips patterns/50 cover a 50% and (35-40)/50 got the rest. So you can bet the best 10 to 15 skips patterns all the time.

Hey, Ramrock! Nice to see you posting again. :thumb:

This sounds like a very interesting approach to using skips.

Would it be possible for you to post your top 15 skip patterns, perhaps with percentages of times that they occur? I would like to do some testing with that.

If I understand you correctly-:

(1) You are using the Bonus number making a total of 7 numbers?
(2) You are saying that each of the 7 numbers can have EITHER A, B, C or D?
(3) What testing did you do to cut them down to ONLY 15 patterns from ALL the pattern distributions available?

Out of interest, what Lotto do you play and where?

PAB

For what it's worth, I decided to work out what the total combinations for the UK Main 649 Lotto to date are for the different Skip distributions based on Ramrock's criteria.
Obviously this criteria can be anything you want it to be.
At present, there are a total of 95 different Skip distributions.

Hi PAB and Icewind thank you for your kind welcomed.

The Skip pattern works with 6 + PB and for lotto 5 and 6 at your convinience that depends on what you want, on my last post it is just an example and my results are based on a 5/34 lotto. It is a great filter, you can choose combinations having one or two numbers from the previous draw to play and you know from wich group (A,B,C,D) is every number.

My unsorted distributions:
