Hi,
I've started up a uk and euromillions syndicate company, in an attempt to draw some people away from VWD (eLotto). I've got nothing in particular against VWD, it makes no bones about the fact that its a pyramid style scheme, even if its not mentioned by name, and you do have the chance to win, but there are some strange restrictions. Like playing 46 out of 49 numbers in a syndicate etc.
Anyhoo..thats my rant over...now onto the stats bit..
We have 2 ways for people to pick numbers on the site,
1. Pick your own.
Nice and simple. We just check to ensure that the number picked hasnt already been taken.
2. Use our number picking strategy.
This is the tricky bit. All we're doing at the moment is a random pick of 6 numbers and checking to see that they're not already taken.
Should we be doing anymore ?
One thing we also do is, after entering the jackpot numbers we add those numbers, and all the 5+bonus combinations to our exclusions table, so they cant be picked. Is this too risky ?
Also, what's the general view on excluding low numbers, eliminating common birthdays etc, and common combinations like 1,2,3,4,5,6 ?
Any thoughts or help greatly appreciated.
