Had to tell this story..
An aquaintance of mine had her first baby last Wednesday. She is 40 years old and insisted on having a natural childbirth at home with a mid-wife present. (to experience the total joy of the experience, in her words) Needless to say after so many hours in labor it was determined the best course of action would be to take her to the hospital to have it as some complications arose. She ended up having to have a C-section and did come home on Monday. Well, wouldn't you know it, yesterday she was rushed back to the hospital, her appendix burst. So, it's back in the hospital for another stay. Rotten luck or what?
