don't forget the large amount of codfish portuguese fishermen brought to Portugal from the Newfoundland seas. They had fished a lot!! Now they can't.

All I know is that we are not allowed to fish for any species what so ever. Unless you are a fisherman and got the right quota/license. But I and a non fisherperson ,we are not allowed to go out ourselves to catch any, we have to buy it! and the price if just rediculous! ....

Interestingly enough Frank, I heard a report the other day, which said, we Canadians only eat fish 3% of the time, very low compared to other nations, myself, I love fish!

the scientist are saying now that's it's safer to just take fish oil caspsules [for your essential fatty acids ie omega 3's etc] rather than eating larger fish because of

1. large fish are higher up in the food chain and have hence acculmated more toxics in their systems ie mercury etc by eating other fish

2. the fish oil is from lower food chained sea creatures [anchovies etc], ie they don't eat other fish hence lower toxins
