Targeting young lottery players

Lotteries nationwide try to bring in young adults [ AP http://x.co/5AsxU ]

*LOL* ummmya, for years I've griped about not being able to play lottery online...education having a monopoly on most lottery.

indian casinos cutting into lottery revenue...in recession yet lotteries raise ticket price, or worsen odds.

in some 3rd world countries, they can play lottery via text, online...but not here in the land of Silicon Valley, the cradle of technology har har!

so yeah, not much allure for the younger folks.

stupid politicians and their silly laws...online gambling bad mmmkay! well so is smoking & drinking, but you sin-tax the hell out of them.

I agree, Blitzed. Its silly.

Especially with the daily games, havin' to run out to the gas station or convenience store twice a day just might not fit into peoples' schedules. And that goes double for Texas where the Pick 3 and Pick 4 are drawn 4 times a day!

I think that there is plenty of history with online gambling to study the effects.

Certainly you can tell that lottery ads are targeting a young population. Well, if you want to find them they are online. Its the way of the future.

Good luck!

hiya Icewynd, yeah and some folks get snowed in! offering online play should be a no-brainer.

also with poor economy, most lottery merchants cut back employee hours, or number of employees...try buying lottery tickets when there is a long line of people paying for gas, carwash, or whatever...ifya have like 3 or 4 lottery playslips to sidetrack a cashier, you kinda feel like a leper for holding up the line:hair:

also, the gas station/market I used to go next to my apartment complex dropped lottery...so I have to go elsewhere meh!

take it easy,

Dropped Lottery!?!??? Did you ask them why? I kinda thought that was a cash cow :cow: for the retailers -- small commission for every ticket plus a big bonus if you chance to sell a winner.

Maybe CA doesn't treat their retailers so good?

Good luck!

hiya Icewynd, yeah lottery can be a cashcow for smaller businesses in a location which wants to generate more traffic.

this joint is prime location though, and years back they remodeled, and leased out space for a deli/coffee joint...also have car wash, so there are always people browsing the store as they wait for their car to be washed or detailed.

also the lottery only allows a certain amount of lottery retailers in an area...I noticed gas station market on the other end of the block now has lottery, that makes more sense because they do not have anything else going on there...and did not seem fair that the big place had lottery, and they did not.
