Yes, the US jackpots are very misleading. As detailed in a Jackpot Winners page, a Powerball jackpot was advertised as U$314.9 million, but the actual cash the winner got after taxes was U$113.4 million, or only 36%. In the US, you get taxed on any gambling winnings, but I think you can claim losses. In Canada, the lucky winners will get 100% of the advertised $32.5 million tax-free jackpot.
The lottery corporation replied to my complaint about the jackpot only going up by $2.5 million. They are supposed to pay out the $30 million bonus jackpot, but they are making the false assumption that this week's sales will not justify a standard jackpot of more than $2.5 million. But just like the $37.8 million draw in 2002, thousands of Canadians will "turn into gambling idiots mortgaging our houses, selling our cars" and spend around $100 million by Friday 9 PM. With such high sales but the jackpot limited to $32.5 million, that would leave millions of dollars left over from the bonus money. The big question is whether they will greedily keep the excess millions or have another big bonus jackpot a couple of months later.

Beaker I have a set that will hit for 5 for sure I will mail it to you....It has hit for 5 25 times already ...but has not hit for 5 in the last 70 draws....But I see announcement signs of it all over the draws....Beaker said:I think one or both from5-10
