Sums Charts (Bell Curve Data)

What with the questions concerning sums on this forum, I've been toying with the idea of creating a page on my web site with a chart incorporating this data for the most popular lottery formats. Any interest?

Hey there johnph77,

Most all of the players that I am acquainted with are not of the engineering type and don't understand the concepts behind what a "sine wave" is or it's probable usage in lottery. A pro lottery player is probably way ahead on the "bell curve" theory and the use of the "trough" digits and percentages involved. So in respect to what you are suggesting, it's my belief that you will have a very small following once the average player actually sees the functions and how the distribution of digits are manipulated.

Sums Charts reply - I'm interested!

hello Johnph77

Re Sums charts - I would be Interested in that kind of data! You have a web page? I thought that kind of information was not to be disclosed in this forum. Anyway, i have been looking into getting a programmer to design different filters, in particular to do what I had previously suggested - finding combos which equal sum of skips. I ran it by one professional macro designer - she referred me to a colleague of hers who has a doctorate in math! Is the query really that complicated? Meanwhile I have a lead on a professional stats analyser who is quite brilliant who said she would try and have a go at it for free, but she is on holiday until next week. I have been looking at bell curves and troughs and I think there is a tendency to this natural phenomena even in the lottery. Also, as I said before, some sums of skips seem to be more likely than others. :D

Different sums

Peter

Your 191 different sums is right when you consider the sum of all 7 numbers (including the bonus). For the main 6 numbers, not considering the bonus number, there have been 174 different sums.

For 7 numbers, the lowest sum is 48 and the highest one is 284.

For 6 numners. the lowest sum is 45 and the highest one is 263.

Sums Charts ( Bell Curve Data )

Hi johnph77,

I would also be interested in a chart ( for the Main UK 649 Lotto and UK Daily Play 727 Lotto ) incorporating this data :agree: .
The more information we have at our disposal the better the chance of getting closer to Winning the Jackpot.
I thought there would have been more interest for this.

Is there 1 Sum more poplar than others...?

Sorry for slow reply - on road, will be until 20 May.

Sum chart: http://www.johnph77.com/math/lotsum.html

VERY rudimentary at this time, but 7/27 and 6/49 games, as well as Pick 3 and 4, are included. Probably won't be on a very high priority for further development for quite a while, but if there's a game anyone would like to see computed and included in this manner let me know and I'll get it posted as soon as possible.

Sums Charts ( Bell Curve Data )

Hi johnph77,

For the 727 Lotto the Sum of 123 should be 7,828 Combinations and Not 7,827 Combinations. This will bring the Total Combinations to 888,030.

I fired the typist. Due to site limitations and a couple of other things won't be able to correct until I get back on the 20th. Thanks for correction.

New Page Address

PAB -

Correction made. Thanks again.

***************

PAB, mirage -

Page address and format has changed, mostly due to other format content being plagiarized and quoted without credit in the old positional frequency page. The format on the old sum chart page was similar. Main disadvantage is that new page is vastly larger (4MB) due to total structure inclusion, but that difference will disappear as formats and data for same are added. No new games added as yet, but that has moved up a little in priority.

Owing to the previously-mentioned plagiarism, the only way I can make the page smaller is to split it up, possibly into the individual number of picks (all 7/xx games for instance), and I chose not to do that at this time. If you have need of information on specific games Email me and I'll be glad to send same to you. I will take that into consideration should I receive further comments to that effect.

all -

The positional frequency page has also been updated, adding an internal link chart to individual games as in the sum chart. Both pages can be seen from:

http://www.johnph77.com/math/

Thanks for your comments. I'm going to take a few days off from this project, work calls.....
