. Using the symbolic %programFiles% instead is my recommendation
. FYI,... Those morons who wrote/designed MSN Messenger hard coded the partition drive letter too and its a BIG no, no.
, I was able to uninstall without problems because your hard coded requirement of Drive C: caused the program to fail. Are you aware your setup.exe gave me Drive Letter E: because I was in E: when setup.exe was run??? You will need to fix this... ...change your code so it will run on any valid Drive Letter is how it should be done.

too and not too sure what caused it.... ...if you need to, I'll give it a try to recreate to help you out.
to do over again. The idea is to allow the user to do some wheeling and come back later on to do some more... ...the way it works now is awkward since you are mostly committed to complete everything in one sitting which is not realistic at times.

Don't give Peter anything like that (this time was an accident)... ...he is sure to wise crack it... ...its all in good fun though... ...if he offends anyone, I know he will ask to be forgiven.

Boy did this post ever grow....

It's true since I resent microsoft so much, I'm not very good at being faithful with maintenance and updates.

Lol at some of the postings by members, on topic or otherwise. It's true since I resent microsoft so much, I'm not very good at being faithful with maintenance and updates.
My so-called day job involves staring at screen computer screen until my eyeballs are burned out. Last thing I want to do is more computer stuff at home. With microsoft, everytime I get a pop-up prompt to do an update, I want to tell them to go to![/color]

You should keep up-to-date! I have 2 partitions so I have something working all the time because Microsoft blows it once in a while. An NTBackup restore has saved my hide a few times already. There is much to do along with the know-how to cope. Putting your e-Mail files and any other data you want to keep on a third partition is the key to sucess so a format and restore is possible. If you have installed Windows XP Service Pack 2 I'd think about doing a reinstall. You would need someone who really knows what they are doing to make sure you don't loose you personal data.
gsobier,
Points taken. I should get with... programme (no pun)I have installed XP Service Pack 2 - what do you mean by doing a reinstall??
Of the Service Pack 2?
My hard drives "partitioned" already (came with) for Recovery - (2 hard drives C, and D), but my personal files are another story.![]()

Ok, as promised, I'm in my fool around partition I don't care about... ...I really think your install program needs to be more aware of drives/partitions. I'm running Windows from E: instead of C:. I know what the heck I'm doing so its only an irritation instead of a show stopper. Using the symbolic %programFiles% instead is my recommendation
. FYI,... Those morons who wrote/designed MSN Messenger hard coded the partition drive letter too and its a BIG no, no.
The install program is an add-in feature in visual basic 6.0, it doesn't give you a lot of options, and it's the first time I tried using it.. I was pretty much just guessing at the settings, took me about 4 tries to figure out how to use it well enough to make a package that seemed to work right..
A bit of good news, I was able to uninstall without problems because your hard coded requirement of Drive C: caused the program to fail. Are you aware your setup.exe gave me Drive Letter E: because I was in E: when setup.exe was run??? You will need to fix this... ...change your code so it will run on any valid Drive Letter is how it should be done.
Ya, the db file is hard-coded into the program to look in a certain spot. That's one thing I was considering changing. I'd have just one exe file then and after it loads the form you would have to pick the data source. Makes more sense that way, and would allow more/different lotteries to be used. At the time it seemed to make sense to do it the way i did, but it is a pain in the ass to modify each exe for update packages.
I was able to install it and ran a test for 6/49. When its running... ...showing progress status would be nice.
I havn't played with progress bars yet.. they're fun to watch, but I havn't bothered to code anything like that into my programs yet. This is the first program i made that can take a long long time to run![]()
BTW, the expected prompts to either keep or clobber files was replied to with Yes as required too while running the installing setup.exe program.
I've got the latest and greatest and you really do still have problems... ...I got hit with Runtime #13 too and not too sure what caused it.... ...if you need to, I'll give it a try to recreate to help you out.
I have a pretty good idea where you got that from, there's one big whoops in one location that I'm aware of in the update version. Can't think of any other things that would have caused the error..
TicketsCN649.csv had sets in it when it was done running, yippee!... ...here is the proof:
"3 13 14 18 35 45"
"3 14 18 35 45 46"
"13 14 17 26 33 45"
Hurray! it wheeled tickets, but did it show them on screen too?
One thing you really lack is a "Settings save/config"... ...I'm sure this enhancement is not hard... ...those Green and Orange squares are a serious pain
to do over again. The idea is to allow the user to do some wheeling and come back later on to do some more... ...the way it works now is awkward since you are mostly committed to complete everything in one sitting which is not realistic at times.
I always do my wheeling in one sitting. You can adjust filters and wheel again after the first run... it just wipes out everything from the first run and goes again with the new settings.. But ya, I do agree, being able to save settings and even default values would be nice
I feel your program is still in the testing stage for now... ...eventually, it will be ready for use... ...right now, its much too fragile.
Things like draw history update is for another time. Thats all for now.
