Yea...And I am happy about that... But I went to see so many Stanley Cup parades in Montreal that I understand these players ...after a while you'd rather play golf than watch or take part of these parades... The Montreal Canadians dominate the total Stanley cup wins by a big margin....Such a big margin than you won't see any team surpass them during your lifetime...As for the Leafs  Maybe in 200 years from now...Maybe..

Not enough local French canadians in the team..This is why they are struggling lately... (The local French canadians happens to play for Tampa)

Best player of all time remains the rocket...Despite Orr,Gretzky,Howe...no player would play like him when a winning goal was badly needed...
Did you know that Henri Richard (his younger brother)has won the Stanley cup a staggering 11 times
 Of course all these wins happenned with The greatest team of all time ...I name the Montreal Canadian... :agree2: :agree:

And they won these cups in a real league not in a garage league like today....
They were so good that they defeated the other teams and the referees time and time again...

And of course only one team has won the cup 5 years in a row...The Montreal Canadians again folks...With the Rocket Richard ...the best player of all time...

LEAFS WILL WIN AT HOME ON TUESDAY.... :agree:

BUT TO GO BACK TO PHILLY AND WIN GAME 7...THAT :worry: ME...

IF THEY PULL THAT OFF...THE CUP WILL BE THEIRS!!!..GO LEAFE GO!!!!

The Calgary Flames got rid of the Red Wings.
Just as the Oracle predicted.
With a goal from Martin Gelinas in overtime, just as Dennis Bassboss had predicted.

That's 2 wins out of 2.

I wish I could predict the Super 7 that accurately!

P.S. After the Flames win the Western Division, the Stanley Cup game will be played by the Calgary Flames against Tampa Bay.

He was and is a key player....And I will predict Super 7 even more accurately...

The real challenge is ahead for Philadelphia...They will meet a much better team in the next round...Actually they haven't defeated Tampa all year long losing the 4 games they face Tampa..

I agree....I am interested in these losers today....
Don't despair with all the money that they are throwing away for free agents and better players...They might buy a Stanley cup inside the next 5 years...They can win one ...But no pride attach to it at all....
Toronto already bought some World series in baseball throwing money around ...What a shame for the sport of baseball...
This is how sports are ruled these days... :dang:
Toronto is just like any American city....Not much pure Canadian culture in there...Isn't-it??

You should take a look at this movie...
''Canadian Bacon'' ....starring the late John Candy...differences between canadian and american cultures are related inside that comedy ...
But canadian are more and more influenced by the american culture...
Of course Québec culture is another totally different story...
;)

Dennis, the truth be known, the Canadiens won so many cups because they had a monopoly on the french canadian players back in their cup days. On the other hand the english players were split among the other 5 teams.

You forget one thing here...Montreal had the first choice on the first player from québec (only one player) it ended in 1968 with the first expansion (thank god for the other teams otherwise we would have gotten (Gilbert perreault,Richard Martin,René Robert,Marcel Dionne playing with the big three and guy Lafleur...)  since that time (In the 70s they defeated the big bad bruins, The Black Hawks..The broad street bullies,etc...you name them...) Actually they won at least a cup in every decade even without the monopoly...
The thruth to be known is that the rest of the NHL were drafting more players from the rest of Canada to play in the league...They would all have done much better if they would have hired more players from Québec...It is still a nonsense today to see so few players from Québec in the NHL(Also still going on today on other levels when they form the Junior teams to play against the world...not many french canadian players in those teams at equal talent the guy from outside Québec will always be chosen..sad but true story..)
They were going after origin instead of going for talent...But unlike the rest of the league..Montreal always looked at talent first nevermind the origin of the player...and we saw the Doug Harvey, Elmer Lack, Dick Duff,Frank Mahovlich, Peter Mahovlich, Larry Robinson, Bob Gainey joined forces with these flying Frenchmen at one point or another...
When you look at the overall record of these Montreal flying Frenchmen it makes you wonder why the other teams were so shy to hired players from Québec??? The league would have been better much better...And the spectacle too...
Probably also the reason why Toronto hasn't win a cup since 1967 too.....
I'm looking at this with my little indian eyes...And I tell what I see...
