Specific Wheel for the Irish Lotto

Hi Everyone,

I would like ( If Possible ) a Wheel for the Irish 642 Lotto.
They Draw 6 Numbers from 42 and then a Bonus Number.
I would like to Play 14 Numbers ( One Third of the Total Pool ) BUT having 4 Number Combinations Instead of 6. I would like Each Number to ONLY Appear Twice in the Total Combinations. The Table Below Shows Roughly what I mean, I have Calculated ( I am sure someone will Correct me if I am Wrong ) this can be Done with 7 Combinations :-

01,02,03,04,**,**,**,**,**,**,**,**,**,**.
**,**,03,04,05,06,**,**,**,**,**,**,**,**.
**,**,**,**,05,06,07,08,**,**,**,**,**,**.
**,**,**,**,**,**,07,08,09,10,**,**,**,**.
**,**,**,**,**,**,**,**,09,10,11,12,**,**.
**,**,**,**,**,**,**,**,**,**,11,12,13,14.
01,02,**,**,**,**,**,**,**,**,**,**,13,14.

I would Obviously like Each Combination to be Distributed Favourably. I could then Come Up with the 14 Numbers ( Sorted in Ascending Order ) I want to Play, and Using Excel, Produce the Individual 4 Number Combinations.
I Basically want a Good Distribution for Each 4 Number Combination Using 14 Numbers but with Each Number Appearing ONLY Twice.
Would it Also be Possible to have a Summary of the Guaranteed Wins Please.
I Hope I have Explained this Clearly.
Thanks in Advance.
All the Best

Hi PAB,

I’m not sure what you are looking for, but any wheel with a max 2 same numbers would be fairly easy to make in a couple of minutes using a pencil and paper only…. Start with 1, 2 and add subsequent pairs. After the last available pair, start with 3,4 and do the same, etc…
1 2 3 4
1 2 5 6
1 2 7 8
1 2 9 10
1 2 11 12
1 2 13 14
3 4 5 6
3 4 7 8
3 4 9 10
3 4 11 12
3 4 13 14
5 6 7 8
5 6 9 10
5 6 11 12
5 6 13 14
7 8 9 10
7 8 11 12
7 8 13 14
9 10 11 12
9 10 13 14
11 12 13 14

Hi tomtom,

Thanks for the Reply.
I do not want to use Pairs. What I would Ideally like is if I have a Set of 14 Numbers ( Sorted Numerically ) to Produce 7 Combinations so that Every Number Appears ONLY Twice, but to be Spread to Cover the Range of the 14 Numbers.

I got it now…you are looking for a 4 of 14 wheel in 7 lines with a max 2 occurrences of a same number. Well, I was never thinking about this type of wheels, but it may help if you try Ininuga, which is free and in my opinion a quite good wheeler for the guaranteed smaller wheels. You can experiment with various guaranties ( 2 if 3, 3 if 4, etc..) and make something that is suitable for you.

Hi tomtom,

Can that be Downloaded and Run off a CD. I don't really like Downloading Programs onto my Hard Drive.
Do you know of Any Sites that List Wheels for 4 Number Combinations.

Well, I’m not sure how you might download any program directly onto a CD ( never have tried), but this program is very small and probably can fit onto a floppy disc only. However, if you run any program, whether from a CD, a hard drive or a floppy, in my opinion it must somehow interact with your hard drive in order to run… I was never thinking about this type of wheels, but regarding the sites that list some 4 number combinations, probably if you try some search like “Pick 4 lotto wheels” or similar, may come up with something…On the other hand, in my opinion this type of wheels is not a big deal with somebody with any powerful software or a bigger wheel database accessible, and probably will somebody soon post a good wheel for you …

Hi,

tomtom :-

Thanks for the Reply. I probably didn't explain myself properly, what I meant was having a Whole Program Downloaded onto my Hard Drive. As you know, when you buy certain Sofware, you can Run ( Like a Game or Educational Package ) it Directly from the CD, BUT only after a Small Installation to your Hard Drive to allow you to do this.

Karnac :-

I checked out Peter's Wheels, but unfortunately he does NOT have 4 Number Combination Wheels.

Thanks Guys.

Hi Karnac,

You are quite right :agree: , I have NO idea what I was looking at.
But I would Ideally like the Wheel to have 7 Combinations with Each Number ONLY Appearing Twice.
I will have a look at Peter's Wheels again and see if I can Customize One of them to Meet my Specific Needs.

Thanks Again

Thanks Karnac & system13 for your Replies,

I Found the Wheels on Peters Site. Unfortunately None of them were Exactly what I was After.

system13
That Wheel was Exactly what I was After :agree2: .
Did you get it from a Web Site or is it Home Grown.
It would be Nice to Know what the Summary of Wins are.

Thanks to Both of You :agree: .

Hi PAB,

I created one wheel with Ininuga by following these parameters:

Numbers: 14
Pick: 4
Guarantee: 4
Condition: 9
Combinations: 14
Skip first number (index): NO

Then I just made 2 split wheels with 7 lines each, twisted a little bit to get the even distribution of every number and that's it.

Here's a quick report by CoverMaster:
Code:
T if M Tested Covered % Not Covered %
----------------------------------------------------
2 If 2 : 91 46 50,54945 45 49,45055
2 If 3 : 364 333 91,48352 31 8,51648
2 If 4 : 1.001 1.001 100,00000 0 0,00000
2 If 5 : 2.002 2.002 100,00000 0 0,00000
2 If 6 : 3.003 3.003 100,00000 0 0,00000
2 If 7 : 3.432 3.432 100,00000 0 0,00000
3 If 3 : 364 32 8,79121 332 91,20879
3 If 4 : 1.001 320 31,96803 681 68,03197
3 If 5 : 2.002 1.292 64,53546 710 35,46454

3 If 7 : 3.432 3.412 99,41725 20 0,58275
4 If 4 : *in this line CM didn't show anything, I wonder why:confused:
4 If 5 : 2.002 80 3,99600 1.922 96,00400
4 If 6 : 3.003 358 11,92141 2.645 88,07859

Hope it helps.

Thanks for the Summary system13 :agree: .
I would be Interested in seeing the 14 Combination Wheel that you Initially had. What is Condition : 9 out of Interest.
Is the Report for the 7 Combinations or the 14 Combinations.

Good Luck

Hi PAB,

This is the original wheel I made with Ininuga and it was designed to give one guaranteed 4-fold in sports betting if 9 events from 14 were right. The wheel was made prior to your query for a specific irish wheel, but when I re-checked the wheel I've noticed that every number was represented 4 times...

# Ininuga - Lotto Wheels, by Uros Boltin

# Created new

Numbers: 14
Pick: 4
Guarantee: 4
Condition: 9
Combinations: 14

1 2 6 14
1 2 8 11
1 6 8 10
1 10 11 14
2 6 10 11
2 8 10 14
3 4 5 7
3 4 9 13
3 5 9 12
3 7 12 13
4 5 12 13
4 7 9 12
5 7 9 13
6 8 11 14

...then I extracted the following lines from the above wheel

1 2 6 14
1 2 8 11
2 6 10 11
2 8 10 14
3 5 9 12
3 7 12 13
5 7 9 13

and replaced number 2 in the first 2 lines with number 4 (I could've done that in lines three and four as well), and got this:

1 4 6 14
1 4 8 11
2 6 10 11
2 8 10 14
3 5 9 12
3 7 12 13
5 7 9 13

The final wheel I've posted is just a randomized CM wheel. The report is for that 7 lines wheel.

Cheers

Hi system13,

I am a bit Confused  . You have Two 7 Combination Wheels.

Wheel (1) :-
01-03-04-08
01-05-06-10
02-07-09-13
02-09-12-14
03-05-08-11
04-06-10-11
07-12-13-14

Wheel (2) :-
01-04-06-14
01-04-08-11
02-06-10-11
02-08-10-14
03-05-09-12
03-07-12-13
05-07-09-13

(1) Which One is the Randomized CM Wheel?.
(2) Which One is the Ininuga Wheel?.
(3) Which One is the Report for?.
(4) Would it be Possible to have a Report for the Other One so I can Compare Them.
(5) Would it be Possible to have a Report for the 14 Combination Wheel Please.

I will use One of the Two 7 Combination Wheels after I have Compared the Two Reports to see which One gives the Best Cover :agree2: .

Thanks for Time.

Hi PAB,

sorry for the confusion, it must have been my grasp of english, I'll try to make myself clear.:dizzy:

(1) The randomized CM wheel is Wheel (1).
(2) The Ininuga wheel is the 14 combination wheel.
(3) The previously posted report was for the randomized CM wheel.
(4) The report for Wheel (2) is the same as for the randomized CM wheel. The randomized CM wheel was just an attempt to find the best spread of numbers.

Thanks for Reply system13.

It is Strange that the 4 if 4 for Both Tables have NO Information  . I also Noticed that the Tables Show a Comma Instead of a Decimal Point in Some Places.
What Does the 3 If 4 = 1.001 Tested Exactly Mean Please.
Anyway, Thanks for All your Help :agree2: .
