California has recorded its first shark fatality in a year. The US Coast Guard has recovered the headless body of a man near Westport, California. He was attacked by a shark on Sunday, while diving with a friend.

mabye the shark thought the person was a seal , realized it's mistake and took off knowing that the crazy humans would come hunting for it?
