Scratch Tickets

Does anyone know if there is a site that shows
which big winners are still outstanding in scratch tickets? I see little slips posted at some shops about how many winning tickets are still out there.
Thanks

I don't know of any lotto site that makes that info available (maybe someone else does?) but that is one of the main reasons I don't play scratchies.

Let's say someone buys the big winner(s) on the first day of issue, then for the rest of the time period (be it days or even weeks) the only remaining prizes available are the secondary ones. It's in the issuer's interest NOT to divulge that info, because why would anyone buy a ticket knowing the top prize is already gone?

Some lotto corps. don't pull the tickets from the stores until 95% of them are sold ... or their pre-determined (shelf) time is up. Here in BC they don't post the info you ask about in stores, nor on their ws, not that I have noticed ... maybe other provinces do?

With lottos which have a draw date/time there's a chance to win the JP everytime one buys at least 1 ticket ... how ever small chance it may be.

I've often wondered the same thing. Seems dirty rotten underhanded to hold out current scratcher statistics...especially for expensive scratchers which claim that there are X or XX instant win $1mil prizes!

Have any of you asked your local lotto outlet for an upto date list of whats left on each type of scratchie? You can do that here in NZ.

Ask for a summary list for the type of scratchie you are interested in and they print a list of what has gone so far.

Here in California, grocery stores recently acquired large scratcher vending machines, so cashiers are no longer tasked with sales.

aha! interesting, California lottery finally updates more scratcher info, and more regularly. Before, they'd just do quarterly updates for scratchers which hype big prizes.

Scratchers suck.

At least when you pick lottery numbers, you have control. It is you screwing yourself out of money..instead of scratching so someone can tell you that you are a loser :)

I slipped. I bought two $1 scratchers yesterday. Lighting my money on fire would have been more entertaining har har!

Check the web site of your state lottery. They may have a section about the scratch off tickets. I know the Texas Lottery web site has one.
For example: Starting on the home page I
1. Click Games
2. Click Scratch Offs. It lists: Games by price; Current games list; Games ending soon; Closed games.
3. Click on one of these and you will find all the information you seek.

Hope this info is useful to you. FYI even though all the top prizes have been won the retailers can still sell the tickets until the game closes. So pay attention to the game number on the tickets you buy. If you check your state lottery web site and see that all the jack pot tickets have been sold for that game # then don't buy! Waste of time and money. Check the date at the site to see when the last time it was updated. Also note that just because the top prize is still listed as unclaimed dosen't mean the winning ticket has not been sold. It could have been sold but just not cashed in. So check your state web site before you buy and when you buy a scratch off ask for it by name and game #.

Right now in Texas there are 3 different Weekly Grand tickets being sold. They are Weekly Grand #566;Weekly Grand #699; Weekly Grand #732. All the same scratch off game but different #'s on the back of the ticket.
