$1.00 - TT
$2.00 - FF
$3.00 - AA
$4.00 - UU
$5.00 - GG
$6.00 - PP
$7.00 - XX
$8.00 - MM
$9.00 - SS
$10.00 - JJ
$11.00 - QQ
$1200 - HH
$15.00 - CC
$18.00 - II
$20.00 - NN
$25.00 - ZZ
$30.00 - KK
$35.00 - KG
$40.00 - KJ
$50.00 - LL
$88.00 - EE
$100.00 - YY
$200.00 - BB

there are a few random ones like that come out with special tickets such as xx (lower case) or uu, mm, hh...those represent the amount of money in FREE TICKETS that the customer has won and they MUST take that amount in tickets from the retailer ...other randomly weird amounts that are less common I don't remember right now sorry! lol

PS..There are only letters for prizes upto and including $200...over that amount they do not show letters, instead they show the triangles that usually represent a loosing ticket. I have heard rumors that the triangles are inverted so that it's like the triangle from the OLG logo, but no confirmed reports

Thanks Hojimoe,

I just came across ths site and this thread and had to reply. Myself and others have always been curious about those codes.

I wanted to comment as well on the triangles. It is a fact that the big prizes do have triangles and I am pretty sure they are inverted. It is also a little known fact that a vast amount of these big prizes are either never claimed or claimed by lotto retailers. The reason is that many people out there just scratch the tickets until they see the codes. If there are triangles, they just toss them. I see it everyday as I work near a convenience store. I have seen the retailer go out and fish through the garbage on numerous occasions and grab some of these tickets. I have also seen people scratching tickets in stores, seeing triangles, and then the retailer just says, I'll throw them out for you.

Not much anyone can do about that. The ticket states on the back that you must play the complete game. I hope this post might educate a few out there and then they can pass on the word.

I have searched all over the internet on the OLG sites and could not find the instant scratch codes so i took it upon myself to compile the codes and confirm them with a retailer *Check your tickets twice as prizes over $200.00 AND non-winning tickets have the SAME Triangle validation codes... not reversed triangles but the same.. so what you may perceive as a loser may just be a BIG winner... a woman had 2 normal triangles but actually won $50,000.00 so take care in checking all tickets.. It may be worth your time...

it means you get $5 in free tickets - doesn't have to be a $5 ticket.... smaller letters always atribute that same amount in scratch tickets - they must be taken in tickets though - not supposed to be used for cash

Due to the security concerns with scratch tickets, they no longer have the letter/triangle codes. So if you're not sure if you won, you actually have to have the person scan the ticket. It's kind of inconvenient. :|

sort of, but you should realize this ( i know this because I have tested it at my machine at work).....

if you take it to the person to validate...they have to enter the 4 underlined numbers on the ticket...... if they do not enter those numbers correctly, the machine WILL NOT print out a validation slip saying "not in the winners file"

if the clerk doesn't show you a slip or says "sorry looser" make sure you get the ticket back because they are morons or ask them to try again and ask for the slip!

Some new games still have the validation codes like the "Clue" game. Also code LJ is $60. started back on the scrabble games last year.

It is also illegal for them to not give you the validation slip, about 2 weeks ago i went to a store when i won $200 and they checked the ticket and gave me my cash, but when i asked for the slip they told me they need it for the register, i said no you have to give it to me, if not i will call OLGC. They handed it over quite quickly. They have daily reports they can print at any time from the machine for totals, dont let them fool you with that trick.

If they scan the ticket and it is a winner you will hear that singing music. If they refuse to hand over the slip, call OLGC right away. Their customer service line will be happy to shut off their machine until they comply.

Whatta good marketing also...like singing for a winner, despite which amount played and if possibly got less, same or more...winner ? :thumb:

But what is with winner feelings...now everyone around knows there is singing music for him from some reason...

I wouldn't like such music sang for me any loudly, since since someone around who may turn to crime because desperately needs some money or such , might think I really got something big on my ticket.
... not sure, but there is a possibility...:cold:
