Sangoma-number divination

Hi Patrick123

My late mother and grandmother used to consume alarming quantities of South African sherry..............Formidable!
Another great update. I understand most of the program, but am still experimenting with the number of historical draws to load for best results. It would be nice to have a single "ballpark":look: figure, but the indications are that the answer has to be variable...I will continue experimenting.
I am curious as to when or how you use the sort facility in the columns. I find that there are some occasions when they are useful, ie give a successful pair/trip, others when they seem to be irelevant.

Hi barge,
In the beginning, when the draws were without shape and form,
Patrick, created WinnaLotto with some rudimentary statistics,
and it was good.. Springbok said, let's add N+x>=H, and other calculations.
The results were good, but un-ordered, thus the sort was born.
Then Patrick created Filters, and the sort fell by the wayside. ;)

Seriously though, I used to use filters when there where a lot of rows being returned. I would then sort the rows, by one of the columns, i.e. if I was looking for potential N+x>=H balls, that would be the column I'd sort taking the top 2 results. Now with filters, the aim is to return only rows that will hit within the next 4 draws.

Regards
Patrick

Hi Patrick123

Verily, I say thanks for your viewpoint Patrick, I tend to miss the wood for the trees sometimes!
I have a problem with the revised program as follows: It works perfectly except that when I try to load history draws for evaluation, it hangs immediately after the first draw is loaded. It worked once when I ran it following your example, and is clearly a big advance on the previous version. Since that one success, as soon as I for example, want to load 10 draws, the program starts loading the first, then just as it appears to be completing the op, hangs with the error message:
Access violation at address 004268F4. Write of address 000000D1.
The dbase that was in use when the prog first stopped was the Tball, 5-34. Since then any dbase produces the same result.

Sometimes it hangs completely, others I can return to the analysis screen and work, but the Filter Evaluation section remains unusable.
I have rebooted my machine, tried it on my laptop, same problem. I re-extracted the .exe file from the winrar file, when that didn't work I re-downloaded it from your site, still the same problem. I have checked the Registry, no problems there.
My main computer is a 2x 3ghz P4 with 1ghx ram, running XP. It is usually very stable. I run Mozilla Firefox in place of IE.

In the Beginning ................
I love the turn of phrase:) Maybe Winnalotto should be renamed Genesis-Sangoma version:) Sounds more classy than Winnalotto:) It transforms the shapeless form of the lottery. Thinking about your statement of hitting within 4 draws maybe an OK ballpark figure but when I evaluate a pair it has got to hit within the criteria of the particular filter. Also the filter must deliver one and only one pair. If it gives even two pairs, I reject it. I will keep altering the draw history until that happens. If I cannot get that then I will not use that pair. When I walk into the bookie to lay a bet I have supreme confidence that the odds are on my side. To me it has the same guarantee that the sun will rise the next morning. If it does no happen then the sun will rise the morning after(this happens according to the probability zone of error). I am a walking, living and breathing algorithm:) By doing that technique I start to get ultra precision. With my kind heartedness I actually feel compassion and sorrow for these bookies but then I realise they are a bunch of sharks and I am the biggest shark of the lot:rolling:

Greetings Barge

What happened to you happened to me once and once only. I checked everything and reloaded and it worked perfectly. I use Windows 2000 Professional(a refugee from E-Bay) running on an ancient Dell desktop 150(a refugee from E-Bay),one gigawhatsit P3 processor 512 megawhatsits of memory and some sort of video type card(also a refugee from E-Bay). OK, I am a cheapskate with my flatscreen rescued form a rubbish dump.My only theory is that a cosmic ray went through the processor and discombobulated it at that moment.:) You know Barge, it is amazing what people throw away in the UK. If I had the time I would not need to buy anything over here. I am still on the lookout for a Rolls Royce.:) No more E-Bay for me when you got rubbish dumps and skips. Incidently the best rubbish skips are actually in the City of London(square mile) if you are looking for a good computer. Maybe it is time I upgraded. You take a bus and go to the topdeck and scan the skips.

Patrick I should have mentioned that if I use the inbetweener and I offset it by 1 then it must hit the very next draw. In other words it morphs into a draadsitter(of course it must not hit in the offset).

Hi Springbok

Excellent post. I live about 2 hours from London on the coast, we have poor quality skip contents here, unless you are opening a B&B and are looking for disposable slightly used kitchen units. I know you are right about London skips, I visited New York earlier this year and rescued 6 new and very readable current hardback novels. I couldn't get the really good stuff (2 YO computers and office furniture) onto the plane, even if I had, BA would have delivered it to Hong Kong or Shanghai.:)
Every time I go near the computer I restart Sagoma and try it, it usually works, but not this time so far. On a different note I have been pressing my son to produce a prog to convert my dbases to Alpha files, he pleads too busy at the moment. he is a programmer amongst other things but is based abroad. Easy to talk to but difficult to pin down. I must pay him a heavy(!) visit. Dangling the prospect of riches over his head hasn't worked ....yet:dang:
I will fiddle with my history as you suggest, on my older version of THE WORD!

Hi Barge

I wouldn't worry about alpha ,beta etc files at the present. They will probably administer the coup de grace at a later stage. Try the techniques I have mentioned and with fiddling the history until you get what you want. Patrick will hate me for this but I can envisage a development for the programme. Supposing you pick the inbetweener filter. All you would need to do is to click on the mouse and the programme would automatically seek out the single pair(s)(if possible) for a multitude of history ranges taking into account the inbetweener designation as in Inbetweener 2, inbetweener3 ....... inbetweenern. While it is doing this you can have a cup of tea, munch on a chocolate biscuit and say listen to one of Gordon Brown's speeches:) I was amazed a little while ago when I extracted 3 single inbetweener pairs from different history ranges and each gave one number in the very next draw. I imagine Patrick would like to launch me away in a rocket in a neverending journey to the furthest reaches of the cosmos.:) Another point, it makes absolutely no difference to the accuracy if it is a 7/49 or a 6/49 game. None at all. Works beautifully with the 5/34 element of the Thunderball. I think beyond any doubt that God does not play dice in a lottery machine.

Hi barge and Springbok,

I've got some surprise visitors so, have not had a chance to do anything. Barge, I'd suggest see if you can load the program with the uk49 csv file that comes with the program. If that works, there is a probability that you may have an erroneous entry in your data file as at the moment, there is no checking to ensure that clean data is loaded, thus a number 40 ball coming through on a 5/34 import would cause that kind of error.

Springbok, I see exactly what you aiming at, and that to me, would also be the next logical step forwards. Not a case of launching you off in a rocket, but if we can get this working, we'll buy the whole bleeding space station :)

Patrick

Hi patrick123 and Springbok

I appreciate the response Patrick, this being the weekend 'n' all. I will try your suggestion, although I usually check all my dbases with Parsel, and sort them. regardless, I hope that solves the problem......watch this space.:look:
Remind me to reserve a space on the other rocket :dog: for Mr Brown................

I tried the UK49, this time it loaded 2 historical draws before I got the same error message. As no-one else seems to have this problem, and the program hasn't crashed, I will check my dbases and hope!
Have a good weekend...............:)

Barge, all you got to do is a) check the database is in nice columns,b) import it in excel, c) copy and paste it 2 blocks to the right, d) save as and keep hitting until you jump out of excel, simple.

hello Patrick,

The wheeling routine seems to have changed, random match percentage is now always much better than that of the wheeled match goal. It seems as if the numbers have reversed.

cheers!

Above is the link to some of the New York lottery results. I downloaded them but cannot get excel to open them nicely. I would like to test Sangoma on them as I find the 6/49 game too easy. Need something more challenging. I have a hunch that it will make no difference to the accuracy whatever the size of the lottery. Can you like make them readable to the programme for me.

Hi Springbok

American/Canadian sites don't give up their histories easily, it's best to do a google for a non-official site to get the numbers. I did to get the Ontario results for my Bro in law in Canada.
I had 4 out of 5 on Saturday, but not all on the same line, got my money back.
I tried the 49s on Sunday. One hit in the morning, with 2 filters pointing to the same pair, but none in the pm, which surprised me. Maybe 2 in a day is too many!

This morning, filtering for the 49s, I used Draadsitter, Inbetweener,OB. fiddling down to one pair and produced a set of numbers which failed completely to hit. I checked the result against other numbers I had discarded, and I failed to match any. I am clearly doing something wrong. I used D2-4, OB 4 and various other settings without success. Patrick mentioned that columns 50+ might be redundant(?), might it be that I have lost some of my higher skip results?
