No danger in running out of official languages:) . Got to find out how to greet in San and Khoisan(?). I once met a farmer from South-West who spoke fluent San and he clicked away all night.:rolling:

Just downloaded the latest- well done. I am extraordinarily keen to see the expanded skip cycle range. Last night I explored the edit function on Winnalotto and figured out how to use it-real kool man-plain lekker.

I once had a French teacher at school. She greeted me, and Me, totally flustered, all I could say was goeiemore, hoe gaan dit?(Goodday, how are you?)

Well everyone packed up laughing!:rolling: . I've never been one for the spoken language, but I try.

I am unable to get more skip cycles. Please explain simply like I just emerged from a cave. Take me step by step.:)

Thanx Patrick for keno explanation. :thumb:
One more thing: how kan i see span? I would like test Springbok's probability formula.

Hi Patrick

Got it. I just got to add the lines and make like a horizontal scroll across the page. Is it possible to stick the skip cycles together-I think the word is concantenate(something like that in computer taal). The skip cycles on checking with my homegrown stuff are identical.

Hi Springbok,
I've modified the 'view skips' option to display all the skips in a single column at the end. You are able to resize the column as you require.

The skip cycles on checking with my homegrown stuff are identical.

At least we know the program's working :)

Hi Struxo,
If you add a column, view column should be checked, and filter column unchecked.
In the formula box, you type

(formulas need two arguments all separated by spaces)

To get to the skip cycles, use skip(0), skip(1), skip(2), etc.

Remember to add a zero if you are using them in the formula box (as explained above).

you could use
same(skip(0)) + 0
to display the count of skips that is the same as the current(0) skip cycle for the current ball.

Morning Patrick

Looking at the internal filter, it can be very accurate when using with skipsitters. How does it work?

Did some more checking with skip cycles. They are spot on with my homegrown stuff.

Hi Springbok,

We have basically the two filters available to us. The one on the draw-analysis page filters by the ball numbers only. The radio-button (Filter or Tag) will either only display the filtered balls or will put a 0,1,2,3 in the tag column depending how many balls where matched for that row.

The column filter is a different kettle of fish. You can either do a straightforward calculation( just a formula in the formula box), a conditional calculation( a formula in the formula box and a conditional in the criteria box), or a row filter( a conditional in the criteria box with the 'Filter Column' check box ticked.

You will see, when you load the skipsitter filter, column 30 has the conditional entered there.
I've uploaded a bunch of other filters, as a separate zip file Filters.zip and have now also included them in the program zip file.

Morning all!

Why, when I reset column, add column, load Skipsitters, recalc, the latter column is empty? Using a 49s dbase of 1000? I have tried a few times without success. I can sort on Internal etc, but no figures in Sk column.
Also, I have ignored the box "tag" (too busy on the rest of the program!), how is it used?:hair:

Just added a small feature to WinnaLotto. At the bottom, on the status panel, I now display, the current work file, the Column filter file, and the number filter file. I tend to lose track of which filter I'm using, so this should help a bit.

Morning Barge,
The tag box is used in conjunction with the ball filters (alpha & zulu files) by ticking tag instead of filter, all the rows will be displayed, however the rows that would have been displayed now contain a 1,2, or 3 in the tag column.

Re, the blank column, you might still be using a slightly older version that had an extra blank column on the end.

If you reset the columns, then add a column, View Column must be checked, then in the formula box, you type:

Now click recalc, then go to the Draw Analysis screen and click balls.
There should be a new column at the end called Col 30 that will contain the number of skip cycles each ball has.

Thanks Patrick123,

The column I was referring to was the one labelled skipsitter (number 30). Although properly labeled, the column doesn't contain any figures, although I am using the same data I used in choosing numbers for yesterdays Tball. (good too!) The program version is as downloaded yesterday.
It is probably a glitch, I think the correct data is being produced.

Hi Barge,
I see it now, it is basically only a filter column, that produces no output. In the Columns tab, you can go to the last column(skipsitters) and un-check the View column option, but leave the 'Filter column' checked.

Hi Barge

When checking the efficiency of Skipsitters be aware of the range of draws used. For every range you can get different skipsitters. This is because the medians can alter. At the moment I am going through various ranges to see what fits best.

I worked out the probabilities using Saliu's Superformula application. We use the probability of the event(in this case the median) as 50%(.5). These are the probability results over a number of trials(as in skip cycles):-

No of skip cycles.................probability
2........................................75%
3........................................88%
4........................................94%
5........................................97%

It would appear that we need the "true" median. Also the 50% probability reference for the median can swing up to 58% which can alter the probabilities a bit. In the All filter in Pick632, the median is 0, and this median is a 70% probability.

Thanks for the response, the info is really useful. One other thing, the 5 skip columns show skips which do not seem to directly match the new skips we have in the last column, as checked by you, Springbok, and (myself). Is there a difference?

A new perspective

Running tests with Winnalotto using the full bore series of trips and pairings, I could never beat the accuracy of my alpha, beta etc files. I know the techniques are superb with my files. I believe in the Mathematics of skip cycles. I ran a series of coin tossing exercises on computer to test Saliu's predictions on his Superformula application. Coin tossing is a 50% probability. The results confirm the probabilities over a series of events as reflected in my previous post to Barge. So what's wrong. The penny dropped(no pun intended). It was the huge size of the trips and pairs. My alpha, beta etc files are very limited universes-16 in the case of trips and 24 in the case of pairs. Each file gives a different perspective. To get accuracy you have 2 choices. Construct your own trip and pairing files on Winnalotto and use them for analysis. Secondly, this may be an even smarter method- we will take opening batsmen-Take the numbers from the previous line. Pair them together(you should get 10 pairs in a 6 number combination) and run the analysis. This can be done on the window in Winnalotto. Now all the pairings are in the running as opening batsmen. Voila, accuracy increases because we are now on mathematically solid territory.
