Ad-Aware SE

Lavasoft has released a new version of Ad-Aware on Sep/17/04

If you have an older version it should be uninstalled first, the setup for the new version has that option.

Note: for those that don't have it yet ... it's FREE for personal use

I totally agree Brad - ad aware is the best and at the best price
I just installed the free version on a friend's puter. Ran the cleanup and found 68 parasites on his drive. After getting rid of them the puter runs a lot faster.

Have you tried SpyBot

It is freeware and can find stuff ad aware does not,
I use both on my PC
along side Zonealarm (firewall) also free
and avg antivirus (free for personal use)

Good point turbuch2, those are all very good.

Most of this was discussed a while ago in Q&A, HERE are more links of interest. It's worthwhile reading the whole thread as there are great pointers from many members.
