Six times harder to win than the Uk Lotto, and I thought that was hard. It's serious money, 1.3 Billion dollars. Most people would have a problem coping with that. It can do a lot of good in the right hands, and be a disaster in the wrong hands. I hope whoever wins it is wise enough and strong enough to cope with the enormity of what they suddenly find they are in charge of. :wow:

I agree, Frank. It could be a disaster for the wrong person.

I would think that security would be a concern for the winner -- all the publicity would make them a target for those who would like to help themselves to a share of the money.

I wonder if the sheer size of the jackpot is reason to claim a special exemption for anonymity? I would certainly try to claim in a trust or at least avoid pictures and press conferences.

Good Luck!

£1.3 billion would cover the repair bill for the Yorkshire floods, in dollars it would not be enough.

hiya Frank...my wife's friend saw someone buy $10k of PowerBall tickets at the market across the street:eek:

I wonder if those big spenders will post detailed stories
online...wonder if they at least break even from a buncha chump-change wins:rolling:

take it easy,

Glad the money went 3 ways. Still a lot, but not a single "billionaire" that could be the target for a lot of grief. The paparazzi are probably disappointed, though.

Good Luck!

Still each one is a half billionaire, enough to bring problems if they are silly enough to tell the world who they are. I hope they keep quiet about it.

You mean Lottery prizes are not as they seem ? the displayed Jackpot prize is BEFORE tax ??? In the UK you get the prize they say you are going to get, any tax is already accounted for. Its if you try and give it away or die when tax is involved.

Yeah, the actual cash value was "only" about $986 million. The 30 year annuity value was $1.6 billion and both those are subject to taxes.

Good Luck!
