Does anyone know what happens to the first prize money that is not won? It doesn't seem to pay out too often.

1st prize money

Well someone must know where all the first prize money (that is not won) is going.
Why all the secrecy?
I notice that in the last (9) draws, there have been only (3) winners. Whoever devised this
particular lottery are indeed a devious bunch.
I did email the lottery commission many moons
about this, but they don't answer to anyone.
Veronica, with all due respect, you answer is one of complacency.

too many numbers to choose from and too few drawn and low return, Not worth more than $3.00 a week for me :p mind you the 1,000/wk for life is great, or the $675,000 depending which you want lol

Yes, just don't play it. The odds is horrible and it only pays $1,000/wk. With $2 a ticket, you better off buy 649 or Super 7. If it's $1 a ticket, maybe I will play it sometime. If you really like this $1,000/wk deal, then you should play Cash For Life instant lottery instead. The odds is better.

You are right about the odds being terrible. Not only does payday only pay the first prize out about 25% of the time, many times the second is not won either!
I think the money that is not paid out out is being used to pad other lotteries
because as far I know, there is only a fixed percentage they can take for charities etc.

agree - I don't understand why payday is $2.00 - it's a tough lottery to win. Personally, I rarely ever buy it.
