frank, you can add the 10 positions = explain, each decade has 10 positions
1st 2nd 3rd ..... 10th
01 02 03 ..... 10
11 12 ... 20
21 22 .. 30
.....
71 72 .... 80
objective is to see the positions by each column
now I have the default of letters lack of positions.
example = aaabb
aaa = in positions 3rd 5th 9th bb = in positions 1st 4th
we can see the positions in arrears in a certain number of raffles, crossing with the pattern of the letters will be great
Jack,
Its just as well you asked me to revisit this as the original spreadsheet had a counting error because I omitted a $ sign in the counting formulas (column X), so the counts were progressively wrong the further down the column you looked.
I have re-designed the sheet to make it look more logical and coloured the areas that never change (the 728 lines of the reference table) to keep them seperate from actual results. The error has been corrected so my comments also needed to change:-
use the filter in column X to choose criteria to count.
If set to number filters>greater than> 0 you get
677 results in your reference table match with actual results.
if set to 0 you find 51 reference sequences are NOT part of your results. Note that 677 +51 =728 the total number of sequences.
if set to number filters>top 10 but edit the number to top 50 items you get 56 results in the top 50.
copy the results list (cols W and X) and paste to to sheet 1, column A you can sort by value (in col B) Largest to smallest to get your answer for the best sequences.

You didnt specify how the position of the number in each decade should be displayed, but Ive added this feature anyway which widens the spreadsheet and changes spreadsheet column letters, hence the instructions changed too.
the download link should be the same:-
http://www.mediafire.com/file/zayz6wl0ym8bbo6/estudo_da_quina_letters.xlsx
the old file has been overwritten.
Regarding updating for the future, as always this depends where the latest draw is, at the top of the list or the bottom. If at the bottom, its easy. You copy down all formulas and just add the next draw. If at the top, then a macro would be needed to move everything down to make room for a new draw.
I note that the five people who downloaded version 1 will need to download the corrected version.
