a keno story.....
played my usual LD's 7 and 0 at a local pub just after noon two days ago...the self serve lottery terminal accepted my selection slip and $5.00 bet.....a ticket was not issued.....bar tender came to the machine, opened it, was unable to retrieve money or selection slip....machine had frozen....she indicated i should check with here again when i was ready to leave.....sat down and had lunch, watched the draws on the t.v. screen....two draws later, my numbers came up.....walked over to bar, showed bar tender the screen, told her i had won......perhaps 40 minutes later she came running at me with a ticket in her hand..."look, look, i was watching the machine and it just spit out your ticket.."....."wow," i said,"..wow....let's go validate." we went to the machine she has behind the bar, attempted to validate, were unable to do so....now, her machine was frozen...no matter, i said...i will hold onto the ticket, and left.....later in the p.m. i validated at a 7-11....."NOT A WINNER"....holy mackerel......immediately on the phone to bc lottery, went through the story...my position - they(the machine) accepted my numbers and bet at the time i bet them, therefore it was a honest transaction -so far they have spoken with the bar tender, with my friend, with me....now they want letters from all three of us, from me the ticket also, and they will - hopefully - then pay up........when the ticket did finally spit out, it started with the draw number about 45-50 minutes after it took and kept the ticket.....apparently the telus phone lines were down,yet the machine was still taking selection slips and money, but then neither registering them nor returning them until it connected again with telus, intermittently, i was told.........i'm waiting to see what happens now....
