Sheba ... personally I have both ME and XP Home edition and I like it ... very stable....but like anything else it must be maintained for optimum enjoyment...If you haven't already, download the new spyware tool MS has put out, it seems to do the job....I've noticed a positive difference in the few weeks I've been using it. Keep your updates current and enjoy.:)

Hi Sheba,

I have had XP Home Edition since it First came out and have Found it Very Stable. I Personally think it is Also One of the Most User Friendly Systems that Microsoft has Produced :agree2:.
As Karnac Stated, as Long as you keep it upto Date with Windows Update you will be Relatively Problem Free.
Out of Interest Karnac, is the Spyware Tool the BETA Version.

Have Fun.
All the Best

Yes Pab...Beta version....and I'm impressed with it....it snares anything Spybot and Adaware misses, runs silently in the backround and stops spyware before it gets into your machine....I don't know if they'll end up charging for it in the future, but if its reasonable I'm sure people will spend the money for it.....my machine just hums ...so far:lol:

Just a bit of advice........I was having problems downloading a priority update for AVG antivirus. The update would not download. Turns out the spyware program wouldn't let the download happen. As soon as I exited the spyware program the download proceeded without any problems. This only happened with a priority update from AVG . The regular updates download without a problem.

Sheba -

I've used XP Pro for the last two years and found it a vast improvement over 2000, ME, NT and anything else between 98 and XP. The Home Edition had teething problems, since addressed with service packs and updates. You should be fine now. Keep it updated and you shouldn't have any trouble.

Hi Sheba,
I love XP....not really thrilled with the firewall.. I prefer Zone Alarm. If you keep updating virus protection DAILY...shouldn't be any probs. There are some sites that I use a lot to check my protection.
Shields Up! @ grc.com does a probe of your system and gives you feedback.
Pandasoftware.com does an active scan while online and has an excellent track record and product.

To enhance your XP experience Kellys-Korner.com he keeps Microsoft on their toes.

Actualy check Windows firewall @ shields up see how it measures up.

ENJOY!!
