Hello all,

After looking at tonight's draw on TV I notived something that got me thinking. I'll present the problem first and put my questions/comments after!

It's all about the Portugueese lotto, we have two draws one on saterday and another on monday; the only way you can bet for the monday one is to bet for the saterday also with exactly the same bet but paying twice, one can play only for saterdays also.
The problem is that it had been a while since I had watched one live draw and to my suprise, they are using different machines! I had thought that where the same but they are different, the problem seems to arise that the draws are being transmitted live by two different TV stations and each station has a different machine on their studio, I thought they were using the Game Department's studio and machine but they are not!

So where does this leaves me/us....
Two different lotto games or a single lotto game with two draws like we're led to believe....I had been playing like it was a single game with not so good results but now I'm starting to think differently....

BTW Dennis, on the "Markov Software" thread I give some wrong information, the PT lotto has started using 6/49 in 19/05/1990 draw 20 of that year, not before as I stated, before was 6/47!!

Gilles D posted an interesting article about the ball set and machine on this board but I don't remember where exactly....Concerning the PT lotto ...I guess my database was alright after all....Did you know that a winning set of 6 numbers struck twice in your lotto?

Interesting those winning sets, they're bit different.
Because here only the 6 first numbers count for the jackpot/1st prize the bonus ball the last number only counts for the second prize!

17,19,20,23,27,44,Bonus 26
17,19,23,24,26,27,Bonus 20

In the end they only have 4 equal numbers (not counting the bonus) that's about the most one gets of repeated draws here!

Good thinking inner, to bad that the saterday draw is the oldest and so has the most extense history and the biggest prizes because people are used to playing that one!!

You are correct on this but did you also know that you have 7 sets of 5 numbers without bonus that appeared twice in your lotto??

But for your lottery if we add the bonus you have 100 sets that matches 5 numbers....on 2 different draws...

That's just plain wrong for them to do that. IMO

I'm with inner. it's 2 different draws. You can make predictions on the database of your choice. The other will just be a quick pick like inner said. I'd play the sat draw since it gives you more time to analyze your picks {a week, right?) & monday's draw gives you only 5 days to pick #S. {Since you must buy monday's ticket on Saturday} depending on how good you are you may only need a day anyway.

It was mine, not exactly flaud, but it had a wrong format that
induced the program in error!

That's just plain wrong for them to do that. IMO

My opinnion also... I'm thinking of stiking to the saterday draw, and play more bets for the same money as playing less bets for both draws!

repeated with the same 6regulary numbers , including different country with same lotto game [42c6].

But I heard a friend said , he found Belgium & Ireland lotto [42c6]
had one draw with totaly the same winning numbers [regular not included bonus numbers ] , I don't remember which draw .
Can anyone help me to search this draw ?

Amazing match 6 numbers!
esp. it's 6 regular numbers!

But I still can't find my answer .

Mr. thornc recommend a good book to me
"Uncle Petros and Goldbach's Conjecture",
that's great , althouth it's not relevent to my puzzle .

Last year I read a book " The man who loved only numbers " , it's about
life & thinking of genius mathematician Paul Erdos , a interesting
& fastinating story worth to read .
