My Lotto 6/49 strategy

Here is my personal lotto strategy (or philosophy).

Do not believe that all numbers have equal chance of winning. That is simply NOT the case. Check your lotto combinations against an infinite number of randomly generated combinations to see is your combination "warm" or "hot" or "cold". You can use many free scripts to do this, I use this one http://members.shaw.ca/dtoljaga

Secondly, do not invest lots of money. $5-$8 per play is totally appropriate.

Third, waisting your money on your family's birthday numbers gives you no more chances than playing quick pick.

And finally, playing lotteries with "big" jackpots does not guarantee that you will win a jackpot. Hey, do not ignore "small lotteries" (those ofering up to $1 in winnings - usually, chances of winning them are at least 8 times better than winning Super 7).

If you follow Peter's strategy from 1293/1993/2093 - you may have hit that jackpot and wasting $$ would be moot :agree:

Forget about "if's" or "coulda" or "shoulda" - it's simply waiste of time.

A good rule that works is never to spend more on wheels or other systems than you would have spent on hand-picked lines or quickpicks. People don't generally walk in and say "Give me fifty quickpicks please". Yet we are more likely to spend twice the amount once we start wheeling and strategizing and Xcel'ing. :)

I'll be the first to admit my guilt, I've done that before and I know how easy it is to get caught up in "the wheel". Not saying anything bad about them, I use them too. All I'm pointing out is that it is a lot easier to part with one's money that way. It seems more acceptable, more justified, thus more easy.

Best advice: follow the same budget regardless of what system you use. A ticket with ten lines worth of wheeled numbers has the same odds of making you a millionaire as a ticket with ten lines of quickpicks. All it takes is one line! ;)

I respect that, Dennis. I have seen that you have developed some good insight into the game of chance. For us average folk though, the rule is never to double down on a loss. ;)

I've always wondered why they called it "double down" instead of double up". I think it is because they expect your money to go down, not up. Sorry, just me thinking out loud. :D

PLAY THE ODDS OF PROBABILITY...LUCK WILL FALL YOUR WAY...:agree:

I invest several dollars a month to play lottery. It's just not worth the money - If I am lucky, I will win it on $1 or $2 per play!

Script?

Hi Millionaire2004!

I just tried to check out that script you mentioned and it doesn't seem to be there anymore. Would you happen to know where I can find a similar script?

Thanks,
Aimable

I disagree. Since I use system games ( or wheels... ) my winnings have been dramatically improved. I was really close to hit the 6 more than once. I once opened a thread about the software I use. Its called <<< no ads for the sale of lotto software in the forums please >>>

Excellent advide, shirazbai! That is one of the best suggestions I have ever seen in this forum.

Unofrtunately, the lottery corporations' consumer research shows that most players are not as smart as you. Despite the Lotto 6/49 doubling in price next month, most players will not reduce their lottery budget but will actually spend more as the jackpots grow to $10 million, $20 million then $25 million. Most players won't understand that your odds of wnning per $1 wager has actually worsened, and you should only buy half the tickets that you used to buy. For example, one reasonable strategy is to buy one $2 ticket for each draw, then use your remaining budget on wheeling for the $25 million+ draws.

Thank you powerball. :)

I am still a bit upset over the whole "100% inflation" fiasco. The lottery corporation's reasoning behind the price hike was that they wanted to provide bigger jackpots. How is it then that every other western-world country can afford to give out triple and quadruple our jackpots on a regular basis, while charging the same unit as our dollar? They are cash-hungry mongrels and it is the players' own fault that this is going to happen. If everyone sat out and bought NO tickets for two consecutive draws, that would send those vampires the message about what people think of their greed. But you are right, everyone will just double their spending.

I do have to come to the defense of those who wheel though. The people buying quickpicks are in the best position to spend the same amount as they do now, whereas the "wheelers" are "committed" to spending a set amount as predetermined by the wheels that they have been playing for the last number of years.

I myself am rather fortunate, as I only play a few static lines and a small dynamic wheel. I fall into the same trap, but for me the change will be less noticeable.

I will not double my spending on the 649 .. I am just playing my 2 Regular Lines and 1 Insta and /or my pik.
Any extra will be spent on my Prov Lottery. @ 50 Cents per Line.--

Lots of small wheels out there but what is the Small Dynamic Wheel you talk about?

Sheba, first thanks for correcting, I did not even notice that I said "everyone" will double their spending. I meant to say "most".

By "dynamic", I mean the constantly changing numbers that I post here, as opposed to the "static" (unchanging) lines that I play every draw too. The wheel is usually a 5-12 line one, depending on whether I favour certain numbers more than others or not. As of the price increase, I will be going 50/50 with my good friend (who goes in every now and then anyway), so my budget will be the same. As for the winnings, I really don't mind splitting a few millions with a good friend. ;)
