Reminds me of some quirky maths sequences we learned at school like:-

12345679 (note the 8 is missing) x9 = 111111111
12345679 x 18= 222222222
12345679 x 27 =333333333
12345679 x (n X 9) =nnnnnnnnn

and strangely, 12345679 x 8 = 98765432 (note the 8 is there but the 1 is missing).
