Can anybody on this site tell me how or post how odds are truly calculated.
From what I have searched on so far it looks like the solution is hypergeometric probability - but this has me totally baffled. Is there a laymans term guide available. (i.e the formula, I am aware theres a few programs out there that do this but I want the formula so I can play)
I assumed that the odds where calculated as 10x9x8 / 3x2x1 as an example of an 3/10 lottery which equates to 1:120. But these are the total combinations of numbers not the odds.
