Being insulted is generally not one of my prefrences.

And as I have mentioned the concept of projection before.

The psychology of raceism is that some people have to put others down to feel better.

Often what we say about others may tell more about ourselves.

Perhpas I should have stayed out of this thread.

Ok people, were are going good... not we need to start thinking in what we can do keep this board going nicely.....

Like I said let's try to create some rules, code of conduct and such....

Fist thing I can think off is that we need a sticky thread in all forums with a title saying something like "Read before you post!" where the board's rules, code of conduct and the conventions used in that specific forum are presented...
This will not only help newcomers, but remind us all of how to behave!

Second I think we should define exactly what we don't want to see posted in this board and what we do with those who post it...

I can definitely say the ignore feature works will and recommend it to anyone.

Its better than reading a comment where someone is trying to get you to bite.

Here's my 2c worth.

Tell the Indians to stop pretending they're chiefs.

The Webmaster sets the tone of the site. Your laid back approach invites the tedious bickering that afflicts this site. Enforce however you want the site to hum along and things fall into place.

I'm not advocating you be as intrusive as Todd Northrup but you have to admit the members there just get on with talking about whatever they're interested in and have almost a fawning admiration for his overiding control.

I think as well if you allowed people to look and get a feel for the forum without registering you will have more new blood flowing through to curb the do or die "this is our Club" attitude of some members.

I don't regard myself as being anything other than an occasional visitor sayin hello to other people with a common shared interest. I have no interest, whatsoever in the squabling that goes on.

For those members here who like to speak their mind with expletives name calling etc may I suggest you visit a newsgroup called rec.gambling.lottery. Don't go there if you are offended by swear words. For those of you that like to call a spade a spade you can vent your frustrations or anger there and keep this site the epitome of harmonious.

To get to Newsgroups open Outlook then View/Goto and News.
Go and punch someone there including me and let's see a more pleasurable experince for me when I visit here.

Hi thornc,

I wasn't going to comment on this, but, I think the fat lady has sung and it's over, nothing more can be said or done to rectify this. That much should be obvious. I know you mean well, but, I think the only thing to do now (and especially now) is to move forward and not continue with this discussion. It won't change anything. Today is a new day. :)

You had the right intent Thornc,

some things needed to be said because this whole BB was polarized, members were walking on eggshells, etc. We just did not anticipate the turn this tread took, but it was not your doing.

So here's hoping things will settle down and we can get back to semi-normal here, to have some good discussions and relaxed fun again. It does no one any good to be overly serious, and I'm talking from experience when I say it ( my apologies for being that way at times, but I tried other ways none of which worked ... guess I'm still learning ;) ).

The sticky thread is a good idea btw, maybe when his time permits we can re-visit the issue with LT if he's so inclined.

Not in my opinion. I think you did exceptionally well and also rid this board of the problems to begin with.

So my hats off to you !!! :agree2: You would do well here with your initiatives and good intentions.

Now I hope we all have fun and stop criticizing one another or trying to find faults especially with the newbies.

Let's try to win the two big jackpots this week.... Now who's with me?
