As the topic states, I'm having trouble getting the last number for ontario keno.

I usually play just 4 numbers for $5, so a $500 payout(only one line), but I've been unsuccessful as of the past while. I always seem to get my first 3/4 then my last number. I usually look at the numbers and have 5 numbers in my head take the first three most likely and pick them, then decide between the last ones. I always get that last one wrong. I could play more than one ticket, but if nothing showed, I'd be in the hole faster!

for instance, tonight I picked, 9, 15, 21, 69 ....40 was my fifth number,i left it out.....the draw : 9. 15, 21, 40, 68 <--- no 69 :( always seems to happen...

does anyone have any tips for picking numbers, i'm open to anything right now lol it's getting a bit frustrating :confused: :eek: :spiny:

That used to happen to me alot, too. I only play one line of seven numbers now for the week. Been playing the same 7 for awhile but, still never hitting more than 4 on them. :rolleyes:

I've developed a set of 100 lines that plays 7 numbers, and It's very good, I made them by hand so they may not be perfect, but I still dont have the guts to down $100 for that :S, It has hit several times all 7 but when Im not playing, If i played, would it still hit? lol

Has it hit in any kind of predictable order? I would look at the times/dates it hit and see...you never know :agree:

hi there, have u ever heard of the grid system ?
I have used this system and it seems 2 work but u must be willing to lay out a little more money in order 2 play, however when ur numbers do hit u win more.

ur #'s 9,15,21,69 & 40

I would play 5 cards with 4# on each card,

09 15 21 40 4# correct
09 15 21 69 3# correct
09 15 40 69 3# correct
09 21 40 69 3# correct
15 21 40 69 3# correct

#'s drawn 09 15 21 40 & 68

If #69 hit u would have 5 winning tickets with 4# correct instead of 1 winning ticket with 5# correct.

In some cases the 5 winning tickets with 4# will win more combined than the 1 ticket with 5#.
Try this & let me know how it turned out.

each # is repeated 4 times, it is easier 2 understand if I use the following example:
1 2 3 4 5

1 2 3 4
1 2 3 5
1 2 4 5
1 3 4 5
2 3 4 5

just copy this grid & substitute ur # or any # for 1 2 3 4 5

in ur case

1=09
2=15
3=21
4=40
5=69

I think u get the picture,

bye 4 now, & gl

I have had the same problem..I play 7 numbers. Matter of fact I have gotten 7/7 back in May. Recently despite spending more and wheeling, I am having a hard time getting past 6/7. Infact one week I got 6/7 5 nights in row.
Usually it's numbers 31, 41, and 66 that don't pass.
I strongly suspect something has changed in the way Ont keno numbers are drawn. Likely the system that picks the numbers is programmed in such a way
as to minimize payouts. A programmer at the OLGC may have tightened the rules.
A friend of mine who is a mathematician tells me that it's just as unlikely to get 6/7 5 straight nights in a row as it is to win. He thinks that everything being equal, one or two of the 5 nights should have been a jackpot win.
Infact, I have given up on playing keno completely. I may try it again in a month or so to see if anything has changed.

So it seems like quite a few of you win something even if it's small. Here is my goal. I play very very off and on and last week I got two numbers and the mega off a QP. I won 11.00 so I kept that money in my lotto playing fund I started. I really have to be careful because I told myself I could play 5.00 a week on. That was before I found this forum. I am happy for now to win 11.00 every week to add to my lotto fund as I start understanding how to pick my own numbers. That means that my 5.00 habit is covered with the previous weeks winnings always. I would be content with that BUT eventually I want to hit a jack pot or at least a couple of grand, but if I'm anything during the learning process, great! I new at cosistently playing Lotto, but not new at Lotto. Five dollars is really all I want to do right now, I don't want this to consume me then the element of fun is gone. I'm irritated because I don't have my 5 picks done and tonight is the draw so I better get off of here and get started because after a week on this board, I don't want to do 5 QPs again.

Well, 7/7 on Ontario Keno is $5000, I had $2/wager so infact I got $10,000
Also in May, same month as above win, I got 5/6 on 649, $2900.00.

I think perhaps you want to avoid playing for a few weeks, and save enough to do a $40-$80 play in one go. You chances are better with a bigger volume.
Trust me, don't beleive the experts who say that volume makes a slight difference to your odds. It does, if only because more volume means you have a better chance of recovering your costs. So my advice - play less but when you play, play more.

I think you will find getting to 4/7 or 5/7 is not difficult ..getting past 5/7 is the hardest part. On accasion I have bought 70 or 80 lines and up to 15 lines would hit 5/7.

So, you may want to split you tickets into 2 parts eg:

Line1:17-25-27-34-40-41-49
Line2: 17-25-27-51-54-59-60
