For a 6/49 lottery, there are 15 prime numbers (2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13 17, 19, 23, 29, 31, 37, 41, 43 and 47) or 30.61%.

So after 2205 draws, we should expect that percentage of the winning numbers to be prime numbers. This amounts to 4050 numbers, if the bonus number is not considered. Actually, the values are 4041 prime numbers and 9189 non-prime numbers. The difference between theory and reality is a big 0.07%.

We can also look at one other characteristic: the ratio of prime / non-prime numbers in a draw. This can go from 0/6 to 6/0. These are the ratios obtained after 2205 draws. The data is listed in the following order: the ratio prime/non-prime numbers, the actual number of time this ratio occurred, the theorical number of times it should have occurred and these two same values but in percentages.

It is Interesting that the Actual and Expected Prime / Non Prime Numbers are Running Virtually True to Form.
Using ALL Combinations in a 649 Lotto and the Ratios Stated, I have Calculated the Number of Draws that EACH Ratio is Expected to be Drawn. As you can See, there is a Good Case to Include 2 Prime Numbers in your Combinations.
