I guess that they are done....I have picked Boston in 5 in my pool anyway...Ah! Well...they still can sleep tight...They have won it so often...that in our lifetime no team will even get close to them in that department...Certainly not the leafs
I also see that Toronto has their hands full with Ottawa...Don't sing it too loudly Sheba they might be next to go even if I picked them in my pool to beat Ottawa...Anyway what we are looking at is third class hockey....And no rules on the ice at all...what a shame for our National sport...I also watched women hockey lately...Couldn't believe it when they refused the goal for the american team...After rewieing it on video....GEEEEEE...Somebody must have made a lot of $$$$$$ for that one....
I don't want to take away the Canadian victory here...But winning that way always makes you wonder...

Three Canadian blondes died and found themselves standing before St.> Peter. He told them that before they could enter the Kingdom, they had to> tell him what Easter represented.

The first blonde said, "Easter is a holiday where they have a big feastand> we give thanks and eat turkey."

St. Peter said, "Noooooo," and he banished her to Hell.

The second blonde said, "Easter is when we celebrate Jesus' birth and> exchange gifts."

St. Peter said, "Noooooo," and he banished her to Hell. The third blonde said she knew what Easter was, and St. Peter said, "So, tell me."
She said, "Easter is a Christian holiday that coincides with the Jewish> festival of Passover. Jesus was having Passover feast with His disciples> when He was betrayed by Judas, and the Romans arrested Him. The Romans hung Him on the cross and eventually He died. Then they buried Him in a tomb behind a very large boulder .."
St. Peter said, "Verrrrrry good."
Then the blonde continued, "Now, every year the Jews roll away the boulder and Jesus comes out. If he sees his shadow, we have six more weeks of hockey."

St. Peter fainted

On their arrival in heaven three lotto players knocked gently on heaven's door....
St-Peter looks at the first one a French canadian and says...
'' Your punishment before entering this door is to stay 2 months with Don Cherry's''
Then St-Peters looks at the second person... A real lotto fan...He says to him..'' Before entering this door you must write down all the possible combinations in your Keno game using only a pencil and these huge piles of papers....and he added ...Good luck''
Then St-Peters looks at the third person....It was Me Dennis...
He says ...''Well you can enter heaven right away no punisment for you'' Upon entering heaven I saw Sheba there...So I went back to St-Peters and asked for an explanation...I said to him ''St-Peters you told me that I didn't have to serve any kind of punishment...What's going on here???''
He looked back at me and said ''You're right and you didn't get any punishment of any kind...But you don't know what punishment Sheba got...''

Two Americans sitting in a bar discussing the various contributions of foriegn nations to American culture:

1st A - "The only thing Canada's ever contributed to American culture is w****s and hockey players."
2nd A - "Waddayou mean? My wife's from Canada."
1st A - "Oh? What team's she play for?"

It's the singer that they don't like...
Anyway the way things are going lately...It wouldn't surprize me at all if ...In a few years they'll hear another song...All made in Québec...With a different singer...Of course... :D

3 out of 4 persons that attend the hockey game in the Bell centre are from English origins....
Why are the French under represented, do they not support their team?

Anyways, the statement was made that the Montreal fans booed, it made no separation, whether the were French or English fans.
A shame this happened, sports and politics should not mix.

They don't (The French people) see them as their team anymore...It's a different story when you go to see a junior game....
Can't blame them...Very few players are from the area...Not like it used to be...
Funny that the most important player from each team is from elsewhere....Like the Leafs...Mats Sundin is their core player...
He's from Sweden  (The very same players that Don ''the clown'' Cherry used to bash day in and day out..)
You don't see the devotion to a team that we saw in the past...players travel from team to team each year to get more $$$$ The team and player you are cheering for this year might help eliminate your team next year....Stupid league without rules and stupid organisations in pro sports these days...
:dang:

On the contrairy Peter.....Everything is link....For years in Toronto they booed when the announcer started to talk in French...But nobody ever :bawl: for that around here...Can't close your eyes on these facts...

That is not right either Dennis, I mean to boo the french, that too is a shame.
Also you are correct, so few players remain with there teams anymore.
I think bringing Bob Gainey back to the organization was a great move.

Another thing to consider here...many fans from Boston booed the Canadian song in the Bell centre...Because of that Iraq thing....This is why most of the people in the Boston arena cheered when they heard the song...just to put everything back into context....Boston is not very far from Montreal...In the playoffs there are always lots of Boston fans in the stands in Montreal...
Bringing back Bob Gainey was great ...He is a class act! He always gives his best! He learned to speak french while he was playing here...He speaks it very well too! (Better than some that pretend to speak it on this board)He said at the time that he learned it that it was in respect for the people around him!
He's a legend for all here French and English and others too...
I for one respect him a lot!
:agree: :agree2:
