The reason this has taken so long, is that it is a big spreadsheet doing a lot of things and there are 6 sheets of information. it took a lot of debugging and changes had to be made to improve compatibility with earlier versions of Excel. I'm using Excel 365. This meant more debugging and tests. I had to keep changing the notes page with every change. There may be compatibility problems in versions prior to 2004, especially with conditional formatting.
If you just want to know in general how many there are of each combination type and their percentages in theory, some of them can be generated on the
benchmark sheet. Percentages are only accurate as a percentage of 1000 draws here, and skips are only accurate when you generate !000 random draws. In lexicological order the skips are not valid. Any generated draws here are highlighted on sheet1 if they match any there. Might be useful to find for example any 2 even one odd in your 800 on sheet1.
Sheet1 does all the calculations for your 800 draws, but if you change those draws or add more to the bottom (maximum 1500 draws) the summary skip tables from col GI to IQ need updating with a macro, a button is provided. No item tracked here has a skip of over 400 so there's no point having more than 800 draws as data, only the last 400 are relevant here.
The "
current skip" sheet gathers the important information like latest skips and the results corresponding to them. You, the user can input your own idea of your overdue threshold in each case. This is used to calculate a "times overdue" figure for each sequence. This standardises the various results to the same level. You also have control of the conditional formatting which highlights the most overdue skips, by entering a maximum skip figure.
These results are further condensed to a more user friendly display on the "
Maximum overdues at a glance" page. it has a switch to show more or less information.
The notes page explains in detail what the spreadsheet is doing and how to use it, especially the controls you have. It is important to read it.
This is only a brief introduction to the spreadsheet, I suggest you read the notes very carefully.
Note:-The formulas are protected to avoid accidental overwriting. These are not password protected. Remove it at your own risk.
Mediafire no longer allow password protection of uploads on its free version, therefore the spreadsheet link on Mediafire has been amended with an added password to prevent casual visitors who never post on here from downloading it.
You need to copy this URL to notepad and change the ******** to the password I last set for you. Then the link should work.
Note the number of stars is not the length of the password.
You may recall Jack , I used a password for you once before, can you remember it? If you can't - let me know and I will remind you.
