Noticed a few new interesting member profiles on the board the past couple of days, some were 80 and 90 years old.
Can't picture my 90 yr.old mother- in-law surfing.
Maggie...three years ago I decided it was time to get my Dad a computer. There was the standard "I'm too old to learn this darn thing" statements and assorted hemming and hawing, but he picked it up fast and today at 79 he's a pro surfer whose retirement has been enhanced by the intro to computers. He was in management his whole working life and never had the chance to use one. I pushed him onto it because I figured it would keep his mind alert and focused and provide dexterity for his hands through keying and so far I am proved right. And he loves it. He has dialup, doesn't worry about speed, and says he's retired, so what's the rush. My Mom though not a surfer yet, at 70 says "I got time to pick it up". So, in retrospect , I'd have to say that the government should provide all seniors with voucher for a computer when they get their first pension cheque.
