Wow a few weeks of bliss and now this 
One should know when to mind their own business and just shut the hell up.
I just don't get it. Why the hell would someone tell someone to do what they think is right when this is a free discussion forum. I just don't get that. If you ask me, that the farce right there!
Now another guy has taken the fight and trying to provoke the previous party. You think putting up that sign would stop the other from responding? What a stupid idea !

Time for a little history lesson Chris.
In the very beginning of this board, there were mainly 4 active users, Sheba, Dennis, Beaker, and myself.The board and the forums as you know them today evolved, because we came up with the various formats.
In order to have meaningful threads, and not clutter, Dennis and Beaker came up with the idea to create the discussions and picks thread. It was my idea to create the best bet thread.Although this is an open forum, we have tried to have a certain continuity, and for good reason.
If you and others wish to take these threads in a different direction, great for you, It's not what I envisioned, consequently, I will no longer participate.
I'm fortunate in the fact, that I still have contact with the real players, and our efforts will lead us to the jackpot sooner, than the rest of you.
good luck to you, and your group, you will need it.
I see you have all stepped forward to offer something better.

Although I don't partake in 6/49, I do watch along with many others ( I'm sure ) the Best Bets sometimes. Pete had a good idea and deserves at least a feather in his cap for it ...
No one should have a problem with the odd prod here and there to keep it as intended, which is posting one or two strongest numbers.
But just to be a nit picker, while Kim and Nipsirc both posted 3 picks, one of theirs was already put up previously by other members ... so in theory at least no convention was breached since both really only introduced 2 new numbers.
Now it may just be water under the old lotto-bridge, but that's my 2 cents

I decided to "sleep on it", concerning the statement that you made that you will no longer be participating in the best bets thread. I did not know you started the thread, way back in time when you, Beaker, Sheba and Dennis, you say were the main users. No one had brought the new comers up to speed with a history lesson in the past year since I first joined this board.
I did not know before, that the thread was designed for explicitly 1, or at the most, 2 numbers, period. In all innocence I thought what's the harm in occasionally stretching it to 3 numbers. It's not often possible to feel sure about only 1 or 2 numbers. Other people were sometimes contributing 3 (OK many of these persons were not your favourite people but I try not to take sides).
In future, if I feel some certainty about 1 or 2 numbers, I will contribute them but only 1 or 2.
For people who are new to the board, for the thread to continue being only 1 or 2 numbers, unless they are continually being told it is the rule, they won't know it is the rule. If they don't know by being given info in a polite way they will have no way of knowing and can only guess based on assumptions or examples. Yeah, I see that you did try to do this earlier in the thread, politely yet informally. However, without the background of the "history lesson", newcomers would be still be in the dark as to who you are on the board, and why it is the rule. Which then leads to misunderstandings.
I feel the statement that you made regarding that you are in secret contact with the "real players" and that your efforts amoungst yourselves will lead you to the jackpot sooner than the rest really hurt and is damaging to the spirit of the board.

What we tried to do in best bets, is for everyone to come up with, through their studies, the one sure fire, can't miss pick.
Something that for the most part we could rely on. It also gave the novice player confidence, that he could pick a few of those numbers, and perhaps win something. Beaker will tell you, I once hit the best bet 7 draws in a row. We used to have some outstanding success, hitting a least 4 numbers.
I've tried to explain the value of this many times.
If you like several numbers, why not discuss them in the discussion thread, and we, as a group can kick those around.
What I don't get, is that the rest of you don't get that concept.
