Virus triggers on a certain date while no one is using it?

well, once a computer is connected/turned on, it is then being used weather it is sitting idle or not, it is still being used cuz it's on..... Like an existential riddle that one is.

Anyhoo, this story has a happy ending cuz the geniuses on the corel newsgroup helped me recover my data, so it was not lost, just went missing into computer no mans land for a bit. no pun intended. but thanks for all y'alls support. I learned my lesson!
