Do the odds ever frustrate you?

Hi all,

I'd like to think of myself as a moderate gambler who always choses my own numbers rather than get a quick pick so I can implement methods like tracking, odd/even, pairs and sector analysis.

However, after many years and little luck, I have become frustrated with this lack of success despite my 'intelligent approach', which Hope convinced me might be the advantage in all this.

I know the psychology behind the gambler anticipation for reward mirrored against his conflict monitoring and anxiety when faced with the reality of the odds but I just feel the need to say that losing sucks!

Anyone else feel down or frustrated by the constant loosing and minimal returns?

Cheers!

hiya gmac78,

just forget the crazy odds, lottery games are designed for minimal returns. so play to have fun :bounce2:

make at least one pick usin a unique method which doesn't involve calculations or tracking. right now I'm picking horses by placing grains of rice on the table, then pressin the heel of my palm firmly over them, hold over my other palm and see how many grains fall into it :agree:

ifya really bored and want to test fate, you can try the same thing with
grains sand, salt, or sugar...maybe I'll do that tomorrow for megamillions, I'd need 56 grains heh! a pick couldn't get much more personalized than that, and if it won, it'd be a hell of a good story :)

cheers!

thanks blitzed,

maybe I will just try a random approach to the lottery that you suggested. I think all the paperwork associated to making picks has finally taken the fun out of lotteries for me.

I'd love to play megamillions but im in Canada so all my hopes are pinned on the 649 and the Super 7.

Cheers

hiya gmac78,

yup, tracking numbers can get monotonous.

the most I do is just glance at my spreadsheet for a birdseye view, then tryta eyeball good picks that way...or easier is just goin the no brainer route and usin random picks or full spectrum from my website.

I might randomize some more small wheels to make it even easier to play.

Trcaking numbers is indeed monotonous. For me persoanally, i am not a fan
of big Lotto Corps, and their scooge strategies. So if I am going to play I will make sure I do my numbers. I found doing in other way, I might just as well
throw the money. I have never won any decent coin using Quicks Picks
largest amount I ever won from QP is $100 ( 5#s super 7 ).
Whereas winnings from numbers that I did myself amount to nearly $30K
in less than 2 years.
There is no doubt in my mind preparing numbers the hard way gets results.
Not a JP win necessarily but more money refunded to you. The Lotto Corporations know this - I am sure they would rather we buy QPs.
But QPs are designed to keep winnings to minimum. Ofcourse once in a while you'll get a JP win from QP, but that's usually because the Corporation has sold so many million combos all available combos have been covered.

a Qp, check the sales stats for that draw, you will find the explanation there.

Those are some awesome returns Roger! Do you usually keep track how much you profit vs the win youve won back to cover the expenses?

For me Ive probably won around $2200 in total, but invested a good 50 55% in tickets!, so I profit just around a grand only.

I don't keep track of every penny but I have all the receipts.
I have probably invested close to 30% of the winnings as well.
Problem is with 649 and Super 7. These have eaten up a lot of my winnings.
Super 7 in particular returns very little. I have hit4/6, 649 quite a few times, that helps keep costs down.

If I was sticking to keno/pick3 and pick4
a big chunk of my winnings would still be intact.

I hear you GMac
The odds can be frustrating at times.

"They" say the odds of winning the lottery is like being struck by lighting 80 feet in the ground in a concrete bunker on a sunny day. But if you play 'smarter' (and within your means) your odds can be like standing on a cell tower with an umbrella in your hand during a storm.

Tracking numbers and analysis is time consuming and sometimes turns and around bites you after all that hard work.

I have resorted to generating only full wheels based on 4-5 sets of 5-7 integers and then chase them down until they are drawn and I also use at least one key or primary number to reduce the number of combos [that is the most important piece of advice I can give anyone who is serious about winnnig]. I don't try to win the lottery from draw to draw but instead try to trap numbers or run them down it takes the some of the anaylsis of deciding which numbers to choose, but the process can take a few draws to work itself out. With a little luck you can recoup your loses if you are patient.

The method/strategy is based on letting the odds come to you, rather trying to fight the odds all the time

I agree, key # wheels are one of the best lotto strategies. Several times with keno I have had close misses
- a key number wheel would have made all the difference.
