I bet the family members asking dont visit her that much.

In my book family members who start asking up front are the first to get the cut.

I have a relative who earns more than me and has the cheek to ask her parents for help when buying things yet the parents are close to retirement and need all the savings they can get at the moment......I do blame the parents for not teaching the value of money and real assetts.

I like what Frank Sinatra had in his will. Basically it was something like if you did not like what you got or contested the will then you got nothing.

I said on some other site I would set up a family trust where all family members would benefit but no one actually gets any money. This would also insure future family generations would get something as will.

You have to be tough even with family when it comes to money matters.

A family member should not assume that it is their right to ask for money just because you have won lotto etc.

And my answer to anyone in my family would be no and if they persist then cut them off. It may seem harsh but then who needs the stress or a heart attack?

I AGREE IRVIN :agree: :agree:

THE WAY I SEE IT IS THAT EVERY ONE HAS THE SAME CHANCE TO WIN, JUST BECAUSE YOU GET LUCKY DOES NOT GIVE ANYONE ELSE YOU KNOW THE RIGHT TO START BUGGING YOU FOR MONEY.

I HAVE ABSOLUTLY NO PROBLEM SAYING NO AND BELIEVE ME THATS EXACTLY WHAT I WOULD SAY .OR I WOULD DISCONNECT MY PHONE AND GO AWAY FOR AWHILE IF IT GOT TO BAD.

Hi Mon,

I saw that too in the paper this morning. She was actually here in London when she had her heart attack . She came here to get away from everybody and the stress was too much for her.

It's good to hear she's OK ... too bad she (they) didn't handle things a little more 'quietly' though. I remember reading the couple let it be known they had the winning ticket as soon as they found out (Sat I think), even to the media.
Now imagine having possession of it and not being able to redeem till Tues (Mon was a holiday) yet going public ... then showing it to the hotel clerk ....

Could have had lot more trouble .... not that what's happened already wasn't bad enough

yeah ananymous rich person is the way to go. is so glad i did that when i won the lotto

errmmmm ummmm how do i edit these posts?

seriously, my comment to everyone is "IF I win you get a postcard."
Ive been playing for 18 years , and i play every week, I earned my win , ifd they want a share BUY THEIR OWN TICKET.

also the people who tell me how much they'l share if they win!, a lot of them dont even buy tickets!

but the poor woman, now she will know what is important in life, health and hapiness and good freinds . and with $10 mill she can buy new freinds.
