Custom Lotto Play Board ( Grid ) Strategy

Hi Everyone,

I have had an idea about Developing a Custom Grid for some time now. I will try and explain what I mean. Each Lotto ( as far as I know, and I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong ) is played by entering a "DASH" or whatever on the Play Board for the Numbers you want to Play. The Structure of the Play Board is Set by the Lotto Company ( which can be changed at any time ). I think that this Set Structure Greatly Reduces ( because people try to Avoid Patterns ) the Number of Combinations Played ( and as you know, the Lotto Company is very Clandestine about the Information they are willing to share with us, the paying public that keep the fat cats fat ). If we were to Create our own Custom Play Board Structure ( for testing our own Strategies etc ), and fill in Numbers Randomly for example, I think Combinations that would NOT normally be Played would appear, therefore Reducing the Number of Rollovers. This would obviously NOT affect Combinations that are Played by Lotto Players who relentlessly do the SAME Numbers for each Draw.
What I am basically trying to say is, if you fill out a Play Board with Six Random Numbers that you hope will be the Winning Combination, and then put the same Six Numbers into a Custom Grid, the whole visual effect would have changed, you might have Three Numbers Next to Each Other or NO Numbers in a particular Column for example ( and as you know, ANY Combination has a chance of Winning ). If you were to use the Custom Grid to pick your Numbers, and then transfer them onto the Actual Play Board you would probably get an unusual effect ( Combination ) that MIGHT NOT normally get played.
Has anyone else had the same idea in the past ?, and if so, did you test different Grid Structures and find any particular one that gave better Results than the others.
I don't know if there is any mileage in this idea, or where this will eventually end up, but the more things we try to hopefully Win that Ever Elusive Jackpot the better, it could be a further step in the right direction.

All the Best

Custom Lotto Play Board Strategy

Hi PAB,

I don't think the way you mark the play board makes much difference one way or another. That's just my opinion. I'd like to win too, and to this end for years tried arranging the numbers in various pyramids, and various alternate grids and tried selecting from these alternate patterns or tried to see if there was a predictive pattern that emerged from recording numbers in various different grids. (OK so I didn't have a life). In retrospect, I now think it was kind of creative but maybe a bit crazy to be spending time trying all these different things. It was worth a try just to see what would happen. Personally I didn't find anything worthwhile. However, others might find your idea intriguing. Other patterns and stats mentioned elsewhere do have some value but the odds are long. ;)

Re: Custom Lotto Play Board Strategy

Agreed. There are an infinite number of useless "strategies", but at least you didn't waste money and had fun trying it. PAB has the right idea of trying to find rarely played combinations in order to increase your average expected payout in parimutuel lotteries. There have been several research studies that revealed which numbers are played least for various lotteries worldwide. While no strategy can overcome the huge odds stacked by the lottery agencies, this strategy at least lowers your losses.

In retrospect, I now think it was kind of creative but maybe a bit crazy to be spending time trying all these different things.

I have looked at this in the past, and still do.. I only play 6/49 games, and rarely grab a ticket or two in stupid7..

I usually look at the grids the way that the olgc set them up (in Ontario at least). They are in a 7x7 grid, if you study these for quite some time you'll notice interesting patterns and trends that often occur..

Recently I've been toying with an idea to either pick my own 7x7 grids, or have the computer pick several random grids and see how the patterns either change, or remain the same throughout the history of the cdn 6/49 and on/49..

If i ever get around to doing that, I'll let you know what i find..
