An eagle-eyed lottery player might have noticed something a little odd recently about the winning numbers for Kansas Pick 3.
From Dec. 16 through 18, the winning numbers were the same: 5-0-9. A computer glitch caused the system to repeat the numbers, officials said. The number of winners Sunday was more than double the average.
For the mix-up, the lottery is offering a promotion Saturday: Anyone who makes a Pick 3 purchase of $1 or more will receive a free $1 ticket. Players with nonwinning tickets from Dec. 17 or 18 can get coupons for new tickets by mailing the tickets to Pick 3 Refund, Kansas Lottery, 128 N. Kansas Ave., Topeka, KS 66603.
