we have 16 possible patterns of odd and even numbers

Well I can't deal with those fancy elegant formulas, I prefer simple where I can get away with it. Ive added 4 columns to hold each digit, with formulas to find them. You can hide those if you like but dont forget you need to copy the formulas down first.Then its straight forward to use the AND function with ISODD or ISEVEN in the appropriate order to find where the x goes.
