Changes coming to Powerball

I just read an interesting article on the upcoming changes to the Powerball game. The article explains the changes and their impact on the odds and prize structure. Further it compares the new Powerball with MegaMillions. If you have a choice in your state, you should read this information.

Yeah, when tax revenues are down they raise the "voluntary tax on wishing".

They tried this doubling prices in the Canada 6/49 and I don't think it worked out as well as they had hoped. JP was promised to start at $4M, but actually comes in at $3-3.5M.

hiya Icewynd, they should make bets 50cents, more people will play, and more often.

this is the only big lottery game I sometimes play:

still a longshot with about 1 in 42mil odds, but not bad compared to the really big 1 in 176mil lottery games.

hiya savagegoose...yeah, they need to get real.

I would rather burn some money at a local native american indian casino, instead of give in to lottery gimmicks...at least cute cocktail waitresses bring me free drinks:hair:

one casino gives me $5 if I ride their bus to casino...numerous times I gamble that $5 up on penny slotmachines...my best was $72, plenty to treat two friends and wife & I to champagne buffet...beats the usual chump change I might squeeze out of the lottery gimmicks...California lottery is stupid, they should lower cost to play, or allow fractional bets down to 25cents, online play too...lottery terminals always seem to be broken, or huge line and I don't want to anger everyone. trying to get gas or refunds or whatever.

casinos continue to cut into lottery revenue, yet CA does not have a viable strategy.
