There is roughy a 60.3% probability that the initial $4 million jackpot will not be won, so it is true that there will be a lot more $10 million+ jackpots. Current 6/49 sales are around 12 million tickets, and the lottery corporations are expecting less than a 50% decrease at about 7 million tickets. so revenue will actually increase to around $14 million.

As the jackpot rolls over to $10 million and more, revenues will be bigger than ever so that the lottery corporations can continue to pay the six-figure salaries of so many employees.

While sold at a $2 price point, it will be able to offer more attractive Jackpots (approximately half will be $10 Million or more)

Beaker's "article" is not true. Maybe it was an attempt at humour, but he misled gullible readers by not disclosing that he was just kidding. The Canadian lottery corporations are only interested in ripping off Canadians and have no juridisction in:

Barbados
Cuba
Dominica
Dominican Republic
Grenada

You wont' see any $10 mill draws in the first 10.

With the hipe - if anyone is paying attention - there should be more ticket buying than normal. The only offset will be the Summer - few tickets bought.

Last few years have been good for $10 mill draws in June.

We'll see .

I really don't think that there will be more tickets bought right away, After a little while maybe the sales will go back to the norm but at first I don't think so.

These jackpots start at $4 million.

Do we know if it goes to $10,000,000 if it isn't won or something less.?

If it goes to $10,000,000 right away then sure we'll see lots of $10 mill jackpots

What happens after $10 mill? $20 mill ? $25 mill?

Anyone know what the growth of the jackpot will be?

Sheba is correct. As soon as the initial $4 million jackpot is not won, the next jackpot will already be around $10 million. The percentage of sales allocated to the jackpot will increase from 17% to 28%. So you could see a $10 million jackpot as soon as Saturday, June 5.

I predict that the sales for the initial jackpot will be higher than the current $10.5-$12.5 million, e.g., around $14 million. In other words, most players will cut back on the number of tickets they buy but not by a full half (e.g., 11 million tickets to 7 million), so with the price doubling, the lottery corporations will succeed in sucking more revenue from players. After the first rollover, only 10.6 million tickets have to be sold ($21.2 million sales) in order to support a jackpot of $10 million.

The lottery corporations are betting that even players who claim they will boycott the $2 6/49 will be overcome by blind greed for the $10-$25 million jackpots and will end up buying at least the same number of tickets as before but at twice the price!? :notme:

Lotto 6/49 jackpots are expected to be bigger and will start around $4 million, roll over to $10 million if they are not won and then could roll to $17 million several times a year. And, it’s anticipated the jackpots will reach $25 million at least once during the year.

Thanks Brad :agree:
